Student answer (Band 6.0)
I am with strong opinion of buying few expensive clothes , rather than lot of cheaper clothes. The reason for this statement is my own experience that compelled me to form this opinion.
I always had a good collection of clothing and I never paid attention to any specific brand, whatever, looked attractive, was picked up irrespective of it's brand and quality. When you buy without ensuring quality product, you end up having consequences like sometimes colour bleeds or fades, the shine goes away or stiches or buttons come out. You keep repairing it repeatedly to make it wearable again and since this won't have any replacement guarantee, you can't blame any vendor or brand. This ultimately will be scrapped.
However, if you buy clothing from expensive brand, they ensure not only the basic expectation from that piece of clothing are met like colour, fabric and finishing but also gives you a premium feel when wear it.
I have a handbag bought from Damilano, which is an expensive brand and any handbag bought from this store will cost you not less than 20000 INR when other small brands offers the range starting from 2500 INR. The big difference in the cost has all the reasons like premium quality material used for this bag and therefore, they offer you life-time warranty. Can you imagine any is so confident about their product that they offer you life-time guarantee.
Above all, the experience of wearning these clothes can't be quoted in words and can only be felt when worn. In conclusions, it's said that you will cry only once at expensive cost when buying premium clothing, however, you will cry every time you experience the cheap clothing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have clearly stated your position in the introduction and maintained it throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant, focusing on quality, durability, and the long-term value of expensive items. You provided a specific personal example regarding a handbag, which helps support your argument. However, the development of your ideas could be more balanced; while you explain why cheap clothes are problematic, you could further explore the counter-argument or the broader economic/environmental implications of 'fast fashion' to reach a higher band. Overall, the response addresses all parts of the prompt effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into distinct paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'However' and 'Above all', to transition between ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'this won't have any replacement guarantee'—the antecedent is slightly unclear). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that pronouns clearly refer back to the intended nouns.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'premium feel', 'irrespective', and 'compelled'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I am with strong opinion' (should be 'I hold a strong opinion') and 'expensive cost' (redundant, as cost implies expense). You also have some minor grammatical slips with articles and plurals (e.g., 'stiches' instead of 'stitches'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher band scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. For example, 'whatever, looked attractive, was picked up' contains unnecessary commas, and 'any is so confident' should be 'anyone is so confident'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'the shine goes away or stiches or buttons come out'). These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would be beneficial.
