Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era, some individuals think that it best to purchase a few high-quality clothes rather than lots of inexpensive garments. Although, cheap clothes provide variety and affordability, I agree with the statement beacuse expensive garments come with sense of wealth and have spme envirnomental benefits.
To begin with, companies use high-quality materials to make expensive clothes, which makes them more durable and attractive. To explain it, those clothes which made of natural things, they have more chances to last-longer than the alternative ones. Similarly, well-designed garments reflects the sense of professionalism, which can significantly enhance the confidence level in the people during vital interaction. For instance, uneven shape of clothes creates the sense of insecurity and it can impact the confidence level. Therefore, expenisve dresses not only help to build confidence but also these type of clothes last for long-time.
However, there are some advantages of buying cheap garments. Firstly, it gives freedom to individuals to try new dress codes everyday in the form of variety. For example, social media influencers required to change appearance everyday to attract their followers with their new styles. Moreover, some people are not able to afford expensive dresses, especially financially week backgrounds, so, it is best for them to buy inexpensive clothes to servive their large family. Nevertheless, mass production of clothes required more raw materials such as fiber, water, and synthetics, which can be harmfull for the mother nature earth for long-term.
In conclusion, While buying cheap clothes is the suitable way to save money and enjoy different variety for a professional use, I think purchasing high-quality garments have significant advantages, one the one hand, luxury appearance can boost the confidence level and have better durability , on the other hand, less uses of natural resources can be fruitful for ecosystem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position and discussing both sides of the argument. The student states an agreement with buying expensive clothes because of their durability, professional appearance, and environmental benefits, while acknowledging the counter-arguments regarding variety and affordability. Ideas are generally well-supported with relevant examples, such as mentioning social media influencers and natural resource consumption. However, some arguments, such as the point about uneven shapes, are slightly under-developed or unclear. Overall, the task is adequately fulfilled, warranting a Band 6.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure. Each paragraph has a discernible focus, moving logically from the introduction to the supporting arguments, the counter-perspective, and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used throughout, though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or awkward, such as 'To explain it,' and 'one the one hand, ... on the other hand,' which contains a typo and slightly non-standard balancing. Referencing is generally clear, though referencing pronouns like 'these type of clothes' show minor lapses. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. This performance aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'contemporary era,' 'durable,' 'mass production,' and 'ecosystem.' However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'beacuse,' 'spme,' 'envirnomental,' 'reflects' (instead of reflect), 'expenisve,' 'servive,' 'harmfull,' and 'mother nature earth.' Additionally, some collocations are slightly imprecise, such as 'financially week backgrounds.' While these errors do not impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses ('which makes them more durable') and conditional or concessive structures ('Although, cheap clothes provide variety...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, such as comma splices and incorrect article usage, for instance: 'some individuals think that it best to purchase,' 'those clothes which made of natural things, they have more chances,' and 'social media influencers required to change appearance.' While complex structures are attempted, they are frequently faulty. These persistent errors place the grammar performance at a Band 5.5.
