Student answer (Band 5.5)
People have been interested in buying different kind of clothes because in this way they can enhance thier fashion sense and look cofident while wearing new clothes.some people say buying cheper clothes is better options for many reasons,While others argue that expensive clothes are better in quality and have some benifits as compared to cheaper clothes. When it comes to my point of view,i would strogly agree that buying cheaper clothes has more benifits and I will discuss in coming paragraphs.
On the one hand,Some people are keen to buy expensive clothes as they want to show-off and they think that only expensive clothes are good in quality.Another reason they find that it has good material and these expensive clothes are long lasting.when poeple wear these expesive clolthes, they get inner happiness that i wore branded clothes.
On ther other hand,Some people like to wear cheaper clothes only as they think that it is day to day routine and everyday fashion changes so no need to pay alot money on clothes only.Instead of that it is better to use that money to pay other bills and some important past of life.
As per my points of view, speding money on clothes is stupidity because cheaper clothes are easily available in good quality with wonderful material. We are wearing clothes for our happiness nor for society so we should save money as spend it wisely on useful thing such as study, play and food.
To recapitulate, cheaper clothes are better that expesive clothes.Although, people buy costly clothes for show-off and long lasting quality but cheaper clothes save money and whenever fashion changes,we get a chance to wear new clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly taking a position that buying cheaper clothes has more benefits, presenting arguments related to financial savings, changing fashion trends, and practical utility. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument about using money for 'study, play and food' is introduced late and lacks deeper elaboration. The position is stated clearly throughout, aligning with the requirements for Band 6.0 where all parts of the task are addressed, but some ideas are slightly under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is divided into an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a clear attempt at paragraphing. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'On ther other hand', and 'To recapitulate'. However, referencing and logical progression are sometimes clumsy, as seen in the abrupt transition within the introduction ('i would strogly agree... and I will discuss in coming paragraphs'). Furthermore, spacing and mechanical errors in punctuation disrupt the flow, which places the response securely at Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases like 'enhance thier fashion sense', 'day to day routine', and 'inner happiness'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'thier', 'cofident', 'cheper', 'benifits', 'strogly', 'expesive', 'clolthes', 'ther other', 'speding', and 'expesive'. These lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'speding money on clothes is stupidity', restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Although, people buy costly clothes for show-off and long lasting quality but cheaper clothes save money...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly missing articles ('pay alot money', 'in good quality'), capitalization issues ('i would strogly agree'), and incorrect preposition usage ('spending money on clothes... as spend it wisely'). Punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and periods, are pervasive. Because these frequent errors cause occasional difficulty, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
