Student answer (Band 5.0)
Instead of buying cheaper clothes it is more benificial to buy few expensive clothes. I partially agree with this statement because of a myriad of reasons which I am going to discuss in upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, there are strong arguements that buying few expensive clothes is better, rather than lots of cheaper clothes. The prominent benefit is better quality of fabric. Fabric is very crucial thing to see before buying a cloth. Good quality of fabric clothes usually looks more good because it not get faded even after several wash. For instance, wash a normal tshit as a result the fabric get faded easily. Moreover, they are better fit and suits on personality as they are tailored very carefully.
On the other hand, I cannot denied that buying cheaper clothes have also very benefits . The first and foremost merit is pocket friendly. they are way cheaper than expensive clothes which also reduce some financial stress. To examplify this, a middle class man do not have to think a lot for buying new clothes. Furthermore, as they are cheaper, individuals can buy bunch of different variety of clothes with reasonable prices.
To conclude, even though buy expensive clothes have numerous benefits but still i firmly believe that buying cheaper clothes are also beneficial such as affordable and get different choices at resonable price.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument and offering a partial position. However, it falls short of the official IELTS 250-word minimum requirement, containing only 226 words, which leads to a penalty under Task Achievement as ideas are underdeveloped and the conclusion is rushed. While the writer mentions fabric quality and financial savings, the arguments lack depth and extended examples. For instance, the example provided ('wash a normal tshit as a result the fabric get faded easily') is overly simplistic and relies on informal phrasing rather than well-supported reasoning. To achieve a higher band score, you must ensure you meet the word count requirement and fully develop each main idea with specific, realistic explanations rather than general assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a basic structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an attempt at overall organisation. However, progression is somewhat mechanical and limited. Transitional devices are heavily relied upon and sometimes misused, such as 'To examplify this,' and 'Furthermore,' which disrupts the natural flow of ideas. Paragraphing is present, but the paragraphs are brief and lack internal cohesion. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the conclusion where pronouns do not clearly point back to the intended subjects. To improve, focus on using a wider and more natural range of cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph transitions smoothly into the next without relying on repetitive formulas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive throughout the essay. The writer makes several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'benificial' instead of beneficial, 'arguements' instead of arguments, 'tshit' instead of t-shirt, and 'resonable' instead of reasonable. While there is an attempt to use less common vocabulary like 'pocket friendly' and 'financial stress,' lexical control is weak, and the lack of precision impedes clear communication in places. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary with accurate spelling, better collocations, and fewer basic errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is quite low. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and sentence structure, such as 'buying few expensive clothes is better, rather than lots of cheaper clothes' (missing articles) and 'it not get faded even after several wash' (tense and pluralisation errors). Additionally, sentences like 'I cannot denied that' contain basic verb-form mistakes. While these errors do not completely obscure the meaning, their frequency prevents the essay from achieving a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, verb tenses, and article usage.
