Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is an issue going on among people about buying clothes, whether spending money on few branded clothes is better or purchasing multiple dresses on cheaper price. In my opinion, buying number of clothes is the better choice, there are number of reason behind it which will be discussed in forthcoming.

To begin with, people can take variety of clothes if the price is inexpensive.Due to this, they can save the money which would be spent on other things such household things, grocery and many more.As a result, individual can buy the dresses either on their choice or according to fasion trend without any budget issue.Therefor, taking cheaper clothes is the best option instead of spending alot on branded.

Moreover, inexpensive clothes are made by local producers by which it comes in different color, size, shape, and fasion. However, branded dresses mostly available at perticular color and size.Owing to this, few people can purchase. In other words, spending money on local fasion helps to local industries if alot of people buy local clothes. As consequences of it ,people get job options . because nations' economy.Hence, local company made cheaper clothes is the good way not only for consumers but also for local businesses and job seeker.

However, some people think that buying few expensive clothes rather than spending on lots of cheaper is the better way because these dreses can be used long lasting as of making with good quality of febric and color.Secondly, branded clothes are consider as good status symbol of individual. So,it is believed that people should spend money on few branded clothes instead of buying multiple of cheaper rate.

In conclusion, although branded dresses give good status symbol as well as good quality and can be used long lasting, but local clothes advantages such as budget friendly with great varities and helping in revenue of the countries can not be denied.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that purchasing cheaper clothes is preferable, while acknowledging the counter-argument regarding branded items. You extend your main ideas well, discussing financial benefits for individuals and support for local industries and job creation. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, meaning certain points feel slightly repetitive or limited in elaboration. For example, your second body paragraph touches on local fashion and job options, but the development remains somewhat broad rather than fully explored with deep specifics. To reach a higher level, you would need to ensure every supporting argument is thoroughly unpacked with extended explanation and concrete examples throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance presented in the introduction and summarized in the conclusion. You use paragraphing appropriately to separate distinct points, such as individual financial savings versus local economic impacts. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, with cohesive devices that feel repetitive or awkward, such as starting multiple sentences with 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'However' in a predictable pattern. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, and transitional phrases lack smooth integration into the text. To improve, you should employ a wider and more natural variety of cohesive links and ensure logical progression flows seamlessly from one sentence to the next without relying on rigid formulas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You display an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common vocabulary items such as 'budget friendly,' 'status symbol,' and 'local industries.' However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that reflect a limited and developing lexical range. For instance, you write 'febric' instead of fabric, 'fasion' instead of fashion, and use phrases like 'taking cheaper clothes' where 'buying' or 'purchasing' would be more natural. Additionally, collocation issues arise in expressions like 'on cheaper price' instead of 'at a cheaper price.' These inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, but they restrict your score because they demonstrate a lack of precision and control over less common lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures to express your reasoning. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. You struggle with article usage, prepositions, plurals, and subject-verb agreement across various sentences, such as in 'purchasing multiple dresses on cheaper price' or 'because nations' economy.' Furthermore, punctuation is sometimes mishandled, leading to run-on sentences and missing commas around introductory clauses like 'In my opinion, buying number of clothes is the better choice, there are number of reason...' To move higher, you need to increase your control over complex sentence patterns and significantly reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips.
