Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is considered that buying an expensive clothes is a good choice as compare to a large quantity of cheaper ones. I am disagree with this trend because not everyone can afford clothes of particular brands, and today's generation prefers to follow trends.
The main reason behind buying a cheaper clothes is fashion. For youngsters quantity matters instead of quality. Nowdays, it is common among youth to wear fashinable clothes as like celebrities. They follow famous people on social media, and try to buy same clothes to show same appearence like them. As a result, they prefer to buy a number of clothes without care about quality. For example, A college students like to change their dress up on regular basis. They do not want to wear same clothes next day, or not even want to repeat in whole week.
In addition, Cheaper clothes are affordable for eveyone. Many people around us are unable to buy expensive clothes because they do not have enough money. They have fulfill other requirements of family instead of spending money on a good quality cloths. For instance, a person doing a job on basic pay, and he has 2 kids, how would he able to buy expensive clothes. In other words, buying an expensive clothes are not affordable of eveyone.
in conclusion, although expensive clothes have a good quality but it is not in the hands of everyone to buy expensive clothes. Moreover, young generation prefer to change dress up on daily basis, and they prefer cheaper one clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position against buying expensive clothes, supporting this view with reasons related to affordability and youth fashion trends. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For example, the point about youth wanting to change outfits regularly is introduced but not fully extended. Similarly, the argument about basic pay and family expenses is a relevant point, but it remains somewhat generalized rather than deeply elaborated. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to provide more fully developed explanations and deeper supporting details for each main point presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and the writing is divided into logical paragraphs. However, the use of cohesive devices is at times mechanical or faulty, such as starting sentences with repetitive transitional phrases like 'In addition' and 'Moreover'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the concluding summary where pronouns and transitional markers do not flow seamlessly. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure smoother transitions between sentences and paragraphs to establish a clearer progression of ideas throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as 'affordable', 'generation', and 'celebrities'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors regarding word choice, word form, and collocation that stem from an attempt to use less common vocabulary. Examples include writing 'an expensive clothes' instead of 'expensive clothing', 'I am disagree' instead of 'I disagree', 'fashinable' with a spelling error, and 'appearance like them' instead of 'appearance to them'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score because precision and control are lacking.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, such as 'Many people around us are unable to buy expensive clothes because they do not have enough money.' However, there is a limited range of structures successfully controlled, and frequent grammatical errors occur in areas such as article usage, pluralization, and subject-verb agreement. Instances like 'buying an expensive clothes are not affordable of eveyone', 'A college students like', and 'how would he able to buy' demonstrate that attempts at more complex grammar often result in errors. Although these errors rarely block overall communication, they cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and prevent the writing from achieving a higher grammatical score.
