Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern era fashion plays a crucial role in individuals and society to maintain their reputation. Many people think that buying a few expensive clothes are better than buying cheaper clothes. I am totally agree with this that individual can buy few expensive clothes instead of buying or wasting money on cheaper clothes.
Firstly, if people buy expensive clothes which are going to very beneficial for them as it is very long lasting or durable clothes so they can use it for long time. In addition, if person buy expensive clothes they will use it for long term as well as if they get bored from those clothes like repeating same clothes so they can give those clothes to needy person as it not going to be tearing or dull because of their quality.
Additionally, donating clothes to other people can contribute to less wastage of clothes or it will protect environment as many people burn their clothes or sometime they just put in garbage which will harm the environment.
Moreover the quality of expensive clothes are far better than cheaper clothes. That is one of the reason people buy expensive clothes because they want to feel comfortable. As well as the material of expensive clothes are very soft not like a cheap clothes which are sometime feel rough and not good for senstive skin people who easilu feel itching. So its good to buy few expensive clothes instead of buying cheaper clothes.
To conclude, the quality of expensive clothesare very good as compare to cheper clothes so its good to buy expensive clothes as they are also very long lasting which is not like cheaper.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that buying a few expensive items is preferable, and the conclusion returns to this view. You give relevant reasons, including durability, donating clothes when they are no longer wanted, reducing waste, and comfort or material quality. These points address the task and show some development. The explanation of donation and environmental benefits is particularly relevant, but the claim that expensive clothes are always more durable or comfortable is broad and would be stronger with a specific example or qualification. The response also focuses mainly on advantages of expensive clothes rather than explaining why buying many cheaper items is less desirable. Developing that comparison would make the argument more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two main body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphs are generally organised around related points, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Additionally,” and “Moreover” help readers follow the argument. However, the linking can feel mechanical, and some ideas are joined without a clear relationship—for example, the move from long-lasting clothes to donating them, then to environmental protection. The second body paragraph also repeats the preference for expensive clothes rather than advancing the comparison. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the connection between each reason explicit. A more focused paragraph sequence, with one main claim and its explanation or example in each paragraph, would improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “durable,” “quality,” “donating,” “wastage,” and “sensitive skin,” so the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “long lasting” and “protect environment.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of “expensive clothes,” “cheaper clothes,” and “good,” while several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural: “maintain their reputation,” “feel itching,” and “tearing or dull.” Spelling errors such as “senstive,” “easilu,” and “cheper” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise clothing and consumer-related expressions, and check spelling and collocations so your vocabulary communicates ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “if,” “as,” and “which,” and the main ideas can usually be understood. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. Examples include “I am totally agree,” “buying a few expensive clothes are better,” and “the quality of expensive clothes are,” where verb forms or subject–verb agreement are incorrect. Articles and plurals are also problematic in phrases such as “if person buy” and “a cheap clothes.” Some sentences run together or have unclear clause structure, especially the sentence beginning “Firstly, if people buy expensive clothes.” Practise building accurate complex sentences and check agreement, articles, and punctuation; clearer sentence boundaries will make your reasoning easier to follow.
