Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is always better to buy expensive clothes for their good quality, natural meterials, long time investment and less chances of skin reactions. Cheap clothes can cause number of problems for individuals and they dos not last long. Therefore, I totally agree with the statement that people should buy expensive some clothes, rather than spending money on cheap clothes.

To begin with, expensive clothes are usually of better quality as because it contains natural or really high quality of febrics. To explain it, people who buy more expensive garments, they may are less likely to purchase clothes made od synthatic materials. The higher quality clothes are often made of natural materials, such as cotton and leather. For example, clothes of expensive brands like Artizia, Old navy and Louis Vitton are mostly made from cotton, leather and wool. Therefore, people should buy expensive clothes to get better quality.

Moreover, expensive clothes are like a long term investment because they are made of higher quality and they people can wear them daily. So, folks should buy expensive clothes to reduce their need to buy clothes frequently. Furthermore, some cheap garments includes dangoures dyes and colours which can easily react with human's body. Although, cheap clothes are low in cost, the chamical meterails in this clothes can cause serious problems for individuals including skin cancer. Hence, people should buy expensive clothes to reduce these risks.

To conclude, buying cheap clothes can be good in a short run but expensive garments are better for long term. Therefore, people should make choices wisely.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that buying a few expensive garments is preferable, and the conclusion restates this view. You give relevant reasons—durability, material quality and possible skin reactions—and support them with examples such as cotton, leather and wool. This covers the task well, but the development is uneven. The claim that expensive clothes are a “long term investment” is asserted rather than illustrated, and the health argument makes a strong claim about skin cancer without evidence or qualification. To strengthen the response, explain how fewer, longer-lasting purchases can save money over time, and use a more cautious, specific example for the health point. The response already has a clear stance and relevant support; fuller, more precise development would make the argument more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from quality to durability and then health risks is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “To conclude” help identify each stage. However, some linking is mechanical, with “Therefore” and “Hence” repeatedly announcing conclusions rather than showing the relationship between ideas. Within the second body paragraph, durability and chemical risks are joined without a clear transition, so the paragraph feels like two separate points. Improve cohesion by grouping each main reason distinctly and using clearer references to connect explanation and example. The organisation is sound, but links between some supporting points could be smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “natural materials,” “garments,” “long term investment” and “skin reactions,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “meterials,” “febrics,” “synthatic,” “dangoures” and “chamical” obscure otherwise relevant ideas. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “expensive some clothes” and “reduce their need to buy clothes frequently.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and avoid claims expressed with imprecise wording such as “serious problems.” The range is adequate for communicating your argument, but more reliable control of word forms, spelling and phrasing is needed for greater clarity and flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause (“because they are made of higher quality”) and a concession beginning “Although.” The main argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and several complex constructions are faulty. For example, “as because it contains” combines two causal forms, while “they may are less likely” uses an incorrect verb pattern. In “people who buy more expensive garments, they may…,” the subject is repeated, and “some cheap garments includes” has a subject–verb agreement error. Punctuation and spacing also need attention, as in “daily.So.” Practise building one clear clause at a time, then check agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries. More accurate complex sentences would improve control.
