Student answer (Band 5.0)
As we all know clothes are one of the needy thing in our life.So having good clothes is blessing.Somtime people do not bother about clothes variety. They just need something just to cover their body.
Sometime people like to chose expensive clothes insted of cheap clothes beacuse they think expensive and branded clothes are good quality stuff,So they buy few clothes but the expensive one.
On other side there is alot of people who are not afford to spend too much money on expensive clothes,So they always preffer to buy reasoable clothes with good quality in cheap price, rather then to spend more money on less clothes.
My opinion is not to buy expensive clothes for daily use because instead of having expensive cloth you can buy more clothes with different design and trends in same budget.
If we have an expensive branded clothes then you have to repeat the same clothes after every couples of days but if we buy a cheap clothes with good quality you can buy much more then the expensive one.
Cheap clothes with good qualty of stuff is always a better option rather then to buy expensive clothes.
I thought if some is giving you respect just because of your expensive clothes and other belongings the he is just a materialistic person .He donot have attraction with your personality. So i prefer to spend less amount on clothes and buy cheaper clothes those having good quality.
I always prefer to buy more clothes with cheap rates those which are good in qualiy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you prefer buying more affordable clothes, especially for everyday use, and you give relevant reasons about variety, trends and staying within a budget. The point that expensive clothes may need to be repeated, while cheaper options allow more choice, directly addresses the comparison in the prompt. You also explain that respect based only on clothing is superficial. However, some ideas are asserted rather than developed: for example, the claim that cheaper clothes can be good quality would be stronger with a specific example or explanation of how to choose them. The opening comments about clothes being necessary and covering the body are relevant but do not establish your argument as directly as they could.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an identifiable overall shape: it introduces the topic, considers both buying preferences, states your view and ends by restating it. This gives the reader a basic route through your argument. However, progression is weakened by repeated points about buying more clothes cheaply, particularly in the final three paragraphs, and several paragraphs contain only one closely related idea. Linking phrases such as “On other side” and repeated uses of “So” are mechanical, while the shift from practical reasons to respect and personality is abrupt. Group your reasons into clearer paragraphs, use transitions that show contrast or consequence, and avoid repeating the conclusion in new wording.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “expensive,” “branded,” “quality,” “budget,” “design” and “trends.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “materialistic person.” However, the range is limited by frequent repetition of “cheap,” “expensive” and “clothes,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, including “needy thing,” “good quality stuff” and “cheap price.” Spelling errors such as “Somtime,” “insted,” “preffer” and “qualty” are noticeable and reduce control. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for price, durability and value, and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “because they think expensive and branded clothes are good quality stuff.” This shows some ability to connect ideas, and the main message is generally understandable. However, sentence structures are often faulty, especially when clauses are joined with commas or “So,” as in “On other side there is alot of people who are not afford…” Agreement, articles and verb forms also need attention: “clothes are one of the needy thing” and “they always prefer to buy” illustrate areas to revise. Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and commas. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences with clear clause boundaries.
