Student answer (Band 6.0)

Buying few branded clothes is better, instead of having numer of cheaper clothes. This essay disagree with the opinion because buy expensive clothes will disturb the budget of a person and cheaper clothes means more variety to wear.

To begin, its not necessary that everybody can buy expensive clothes, some people donot have enough money to fullfill their basic amenites. This mean they have to think wise while spending money, despite of doing expensive shopping for clothes. For example, rather then going to expensive and classy malls, most of the middle-class and poor families shop from local market. Hence, they offer affordable prices and sometime famlies can bargin with vandor and salesman.

Another reason cheaper clothes allows a person to have more variety of clothes, a person can do mix-match and get new outfit. On special or regular days people get more and new options to wear. They dnot have to repeat their outfit infront and peole, and feel underconfident For instance, jeans are the better options to get wear with any top and shirts, especially, college girls buy more cheap tops and match with their single or couple pairs of jeans.

To conclude, buying cheaper clothes is a more wise and sagacious dicision for saving money and more clothes can be purchased under few amount

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you disagree with buying only a few expensive clothes, and you give two relevant reasons—budget pressure and having more outfit choices. The examples about shopping at local markets and matching tops with jeans help connect these points to everyday experience. However, the second reason is developed more fully than the first, and claims such as people feeling “underconfident” if they repeat outfits need clearer explanation. The conclusion restates your view but could summarise the reasons more precisely. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is limited space to develop your ideas and support them with fuller examples. Add explanation of how affordability affects different households and extend each example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. This makes the overall argument easy to follow, and transitions such as “To begin,” “Another reason,” and “To conclude” signal the stages clearly. The organisation is coherent, though some linking is mechanical and a few connections between sentences are unclear. For example, “Hence, they offer affordable prices” has an unclear reference: it is not immediately obvious whether “they” means local markets or the families. The second body paragraph also begins with a sentence that runs ideas together. Use clearer topic sentences and pronoun references, and connect each example explicitly to the reason it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including relevant terms such as “budget,” “affordable prices,” “variety,” and “mix-match.” There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “sagacious decision,” although this phrase sounds unnatural in this context. Several spelling errors and inaccurate word choices—such as “numer,” “amenites,” “bargin,” and “underconfident”—make the writing less fluent and sometimes distract the reader. Some expressions are also imprecise, including “under few amount” and “get wear.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing natural collocations, for example, “a limited budget,” “a wider range of outfits,” and “wear with.” Prioritise precise, natural phrasing over unusually formal vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because buy expensive clothes will disturb the budget” and a conditional-style example about shopping at local markets. However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence structures contain errors that make the reader pause. Examples include “This mean they have to think wise,” “Another reason cheaper clothes allows,” and “people get more and new options to wear.” The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure, while punctuation is missing before “For instance” and at the end of a sentence. Practise complete clauses, subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and articles. For example, write “Buying expensive clothes can strain a person’s budget” and “Cheaper clothes allow people to have more variety.”
