Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, people often buy excess amount of low quality clothes by prioritising quantity over quality. However, in my oppinion, buying a limited high quality clothes is a wiser decision than going for lots of cheap clothes. Because, low quality clothes do not last longer that make an individual to buy more clothes.
Expensive clothes are often made by reputed brands. And brands care for their reputation so they don't use cheap materials. That is the reason branded clothes look new even after multiple wash and we do not retire it as often as non-branded clothes. I always think, what is the point in buying many clothes that are going to be in trash after few wash. People are indirectly wasting their money on such low quality clothes. For an instance, buying 3 shirts from street in the price of 1 shirt from a branded store may look that the person saved lots of money. But in reality, those 3 shirts do wont stay longer than that 1 branded shirts.
Additionally, buying excess amount of clothes is also harmful for the nature. People hardly do mindful shopping while purchasing clothes over the street. Because street clothes cost cheaper than branded clothes. Many brands prefer to use recycled material to save the nature from carbon waste and other type of chemical wastes.
In conclusion, I am totally agree with the argument of buying less quantity of expensive clothes over number of cheap clothes. As expensive clothes stay longer, look premium, and also beneficial for the nature.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you favour buying fewer, more expensive clothes. You give relevant reasons about durability and environmental impact, and the comparison between three street-market shirts and one branded shirt helps illustrate the cost argument. This meets the task well, but the support is uneven: the durability point is explained more fully than the environmental claim, which relies on a broad statement that brands use recycled materials without an example or qualification. The claim that expensive clothes are necessarily better quality also needs more careful support. To strengthen the response, develop the environmental point and acknowledge that price or brand alone does not guarantee durability or sustainable production.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from your opinion to reasons and then a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish the durability argument from the environmental one, and linking expressions such as “Additionally” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The opening “Because” creates a sentence fragment, while “And brands care for their reputation” begins another sentence with a connector that feels mechanical. The example is relevant but could be integrated more clearly with the preceding explanation. Use complete sentences and vary how you link ideas; also make references such as “it” and “those 3 shirts” unmistakably clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including phrases such as “prioritising quantity over quality,” “reputed brands,” “mindful shopping,” and “carbon waste.” These show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary, and your meaning is generally clear. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “excess amount,” “retire it,” “in the price of,” and “beneficial for the nature.” There are also spelling and form slips, such as “oppinion” and “wont,” which reduce precision. Aim for natural combinations and check spelling: for example, describe clothes as “lasting longer” or “being discarded,” and refer to “the environment” rather than “the nature.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause (“Because, low quality clothes do not last longer…”) and a comparison using “than.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and make the writing less controlled. Examples include the fragment beginning “Because,” the missing plural/article pattern in “a limited high quality clothes,” and the agreement and verb-form problems in “those 3 shirts do wont stay longer than that 1 branded shirts.” The conclusion also has “I am totally agree,” where the verb pattern is incorrect. Practise complete clause construction, subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms, then proofread each sentence for a clear main verb.
