Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You address the topic by mentioning reasons to buy expensive clothes, such as presenting one’s personality and avoiding colour fading, and you also briefly note that cheaper clothes offer more variety. However, the task asks you to agree or disagree, and your position is not consistently clear: “In this essay, I will explain both points” suggests a balanced discussion, while the conclusion favours expensive clothes. The ideas are very limited and are not sufficiently explained or supported with a relevant example. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough development to answer the task fully. State your position clearly at the start, then explain and illustrate each main reason.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Moreover,” and a conclusion. These markers help the reader identify the stages of your answer. However, there is no clear progression between the points: the discussion shifts from personality and online content creators to colour fading, then to variety, without explaining how these ideas support your overall position. Some links are also unclear, particularly “In contrast” before the point about cheap clothes fading. Develop one main idea at a time, use linking phrases that show the actual relationship between ideas, and make the conclusion follow directly from the reasons in the body.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “fashion,” “trends,” “expensive clothes,” and “variety,” so the reader can identify the subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “Nowdays,” “eassy,” “Millons,” and “vareity.” Phrases such as “running for fashion” and “their colour is drain” are not natural ways to express the intended meanings. Aim for accurate, familiar collocations before trying more ambitious vocabulary. For example, you could write “follow fashion trends,” “the colour fades,” and “a wider range of styles.” Proofreading for spelling would also make your ideas clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few different sentence patterns, including a reason clause with “because” and a conditional beginning “if,” but the range is limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “they following new trends” is missing an auxiliary verb, while “most of are content creater” has an incomplete structure. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence construction in “purchasing a cheaper clothes rather than expensive have more vareity to select.” The final sentence, “if we buy expensive clothes no need to worry,” also needs a complete main clause. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then connect them with clauses such as “because” and “although.”
