Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: providing purchase details, describing the defect, and explaining the urgency of the replacement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal complaint letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation regarding why you need the replacement urgently is brief. To improve, you could expand on the importance of the family event to add more weight to your request. Overall, the response is clear and fulfills the requirements of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Transitions between sentences are occasionally abrupt, such as the shift from discussing the delivery delay to the product defect. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to this') would improve the flow of your writing. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, which makes the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed at times.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message effectively, such as 'dissatisfaction', 'default product', and 'replacement'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'Before 5 days' (should be 'Five days ago') and 'from the right side of the bottom of dress' (which is a bit wordy). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and natural phrasing. The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher scores.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include missing articles ('in medium size', 'it next week'), incorrect verb tenses ('It show that it will deliver'), and punctuation errors. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
