Dear Sir or Madam,
I am Writing this letter to inform you that, I recently bought a jacket from your online store and I am not satisfy with my purchase because it is damaged from back.
I received it yesterday and when I opened the package it had little damage on the back as well as on left arm. The jacket is in brown color in medium size. It suppose to be a gift for my friend on his birthday, which is next Saturday on 30th.
She really like clothes form your store. That's why I planned to gift a jacket from your store. I want you to replace this jacket with new one before next week. The color can be different but the size should be the same.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt: it provides details of the purchase, describes the damage to the jacket, and explains the urgency due to a birthday deadline. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter of complaint. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, the explanation of the urgency could be more effectively linked to the request for a replacement. While the task is fully addressed, the response lacks the depth of detail that would elevate it to a higher band, remaining at a functional level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized, with a clear progression from the purpose of the letter to the problem and finally the requested solution. Paragraphing is used, though the structure is somewhat fragmented. Cohesive devices are present but are quite simple, such as 'That's why' and 'I am writing this letter'. The flow between sentences is generally clear, but the connection between ideas could be smoother. The use of referencing is mostly accurate, though the transition between the description of the item and the reason for the gift could be more fluid.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are some repetitive word choices, such as 'jacket' and 'store'. The student uses basic collocations like 'not satisfy' (should be 'not satisfied') and 'little damage'. While the meaning is always clear, there is little attempt to use less common or more sophisticated vocabulary. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise adjectives and verbs related to retail and customer service, such as 'defective', 'replacement', or 'expedite'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'I am Writing' (capitalization error), 'not satisfy' (incorrect verb form), 'It suppose to be' (missing auxiliary verb), and 'can be deliver' (incorrect passive voice). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. The student needs to pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, passive voice construction, and basic punctuation to improve accuracy.
