You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir or Madam,

Hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to express my complete dissatisfaction with my order of clothes that I received recently. I will require immediate assistance with my problem and I expect a considerable solution in a timely manner.

I purchased a professional blue colored blazer and a pair of formal pants that I had planned to war on my annual party of my workplace. I had particulary mentioned the size that I wanted and also made a note under the extra details section. Notwithstanding all of my requests that I made, I received a black colored blazer which is not even of my size to wear.

I am fine with the pants though.

As my annual function is in three days, I expect you to handle this situation and give major attention to this matter. I hope I get a positive response soon or else I would have to escalate it further

Regards,Uyt

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address the main requirements by identifying the purchase, explaining that the blazer arrived in the wrong colour and size, and stating that your workplace event is in three days. The contrast that you are satisfied with the pants also clarifies which item is affected. However, some details are less fully developed: the purchase date or order reference is absent, and the requested outcome is not explicit. “Handle this situation” and “give major attention” do not clearly tell the company whether you want a replacement, and why it must arrive before the event. State the remedy directly and connect the deadline to your need to wear the outfit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it opens with the complaint, gives purchase and delivery details, then explains the deadline. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and “though” signals that the pants are not a problem. Some connections are less smooth or precise. “Notwithstanding all of my requests that I made” is cumbersome, while “I hope I get a positive response soon or else…” moves abruptly from the deadline to a threat. The closing is also compressed into “Regards,Uyt,” which weakens the letter format. Use simpler links, make the requested action a clear final point, and separate the sign-off from your name.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range for a formal complaint, including “complete dissatisfaction,” “immediate assistance,” and “escalate it further.” These choices communicate seriousness, although some are imprecise or unnatural in context: “considerable solution” and “give major attention” do not express the intended request clearly. There are also spelling errors in “war” and “particulary,” and “annual party” is less suitable than a term for a workplace event. Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than adding formal-sounding phrases. For example, specify that you need the blazer replaced and request expedited delivery before the function.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the relative clause “that I had planned to…” and the concessive opening “Notwithstanding…”. The message remains understandable, but some grammatical and punctuation issues reduce control. “Hope you are doing well” omits the subject, and “I had planned to war on my annual party” has an incorrect verb form and an unclear preposition pattern. The final sentence needs punctuation before the sign-off, and “Regards,Uyt” should be separated. Check sentence patterns and punctuation carefully, especially in the opening and closing, while retaining the longer structures you attempt.
