Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You address all three required points: you identify the blue denim jacket, give the order number and dates, describe its torn sleeve, incorrect size and different material, and explain that you need it for a wedding next week. The request for a replacement is clear and appropriate for a formal complaint. However, the reason for urgency could be developed more fully—for example, specify the date of the wedding and ask for a replacement to arrive by a particular day. The response is also five words below the required minimum, so add a little relevant detail, such as the size ordered or the remedy you expect.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The information follows a sensible order: purchase details, problems, urgency and requested action. Linking expressions such as “Unfortunately,” “Moreover” and “Therefore” help show these relationships. However, the letter is presented as one continuous block, so the stages of the complaint are not visually separated. Some connections are also awkward: “for the Therefore” interrupts the explanation of the wedding, and the transition into the replacement request would be clearer in a new sentence or paragraph. Use paragraph breaks to distinguish the purchase and problem from the urgency and requested solution, and check that each linking word connects complete, logically related ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “dissatisfaction,” “quality,” “torn sleeve,” “replacement” and “resolve these issues.” These choices make the purpose clear, and the tone is generally suitable for a formal letter. Some word forms, spelling and collocations are inaccurate, however, as in “writting,” “sleev,” “the damage and incorrect items” and “positive response.” These errors do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Proofread spelling and choose more idiomatic phrases for the remedy, such as “replace the damaged jacket” or “send a replacement in the correct size.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the reason clause in “because I have to attend a family wedding next week” and the relative clause “what was shown in the picture.” The main message remains understandable. However, several grammatical and punctuation problems affect accuracy: “I writting” lacks a correctly formed verb, “I received a parcel from 2 November” uses an unsuitable preposition, and the sentence ending “wear these clothes for the Therefore” is incomplete and incorrectly joined to the next idea. Capitalise “I,” use full stops to separate complete thoughts, and check verb forms and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these structures would make the letter easier to read.
