Student answer (Band 5.5)

some dewellers believe that it people should spend weekend with their work colleague to strengthen bond wiith each other but on other side majority of individuals thinks that there should be change in social life and it should be keep away from colleague. In folowing paragarh I will discuss about both side and persent my opinion.

To start with, many people say spending weekend with colleagues increase their work relation and they reinforce their bond. Moreover, they can share positive and negative aspects of work place. To continue with, by spending more time with workmate they behave with each other as a family memeber. Eventally, they also get touch with each other family make their relation more powerful.

On the other side some people oppose this they think that there should me limitation and should keep social life isolate from office life. People should spend their evening and weekends with their family instead of with them we meet daily.

Spending time with family and kids keep away worker from stress and anxiety. Moreover, it also keep stranger from your personal life.

In my opinion, I think that it is good to socialise with teammate but once a while not every weekend. Person should give priority to their family on weekend. There should be balance in colleagues should having fun with each other but occassionaly.

To sum up with, both points have their own perspective. Getting socialise with workmate good once a while but sometime getting more socialise with become detrimental for workers and their family if something uneven happened.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear personal position: you support socialising with colleagues occasionally, while prioritising family time. Relevant reasons include strengthening workplace relationships and sharing work experiences, as well as reducing stress and protecting personal life. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained or illustrated. For example, the claim that colleagues “behave with each other as a family member” could be developed by explaining how this improves cooperation at work. The opposing view is also brief, and the reference to “something uneven” is unclear, so its significance is difficult to follow. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each view and add a specific example that supports your balanced opinion; this would make the discussion more complete and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting each view, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the overall direction easy to identify. You also use linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “On the other side,” and “To sum up.” However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. For instance, the move from sharing workplace experiences to meeting colleagues’ families is not explained, while the sentence about family time and stress is followed abruptly by a point about keeping personal life private. The conclusion repeats the opinion but ends with an unclear idea. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each supporting point explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim; clearer referencing would also help readers follow the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “strengthen bond,” “workplace,” “stress and anxiety,” and “priority,” and you attempt to express ideas about relationships and boundaries. However, the range is limited, and inaccurate word choice, collocation, word forms, and spelling are noticeable. Phrases such as “get touch with each other family” and “getting more socialise” are difficult to interpret, while “something uneven happened” does not clearly convey your intended meaning. Spelling errors such as “dewellers,” “folowing,” and “occassionaly” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural phrases for workplace relationships and personal boundaries, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your ideas easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a contrast between the two views and a reason introduced with “Moreover.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “many people say spending weekend with colleagues increase” needs a plural subject and a matching verb, while “it should be keep away” has an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “There should be balance in colleagues should having fun” is also structurally unclear. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement and verb patterns. Greater accuracy in these structures would improve readability.
