Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument, but the development is inconsistent. The introduction is largely irrelevant, focusing on social media rather than the prompt about socializing with colleagues. While you mention both viewpoints, the arguments are under-developed and lack specific examples or logical depth. For instance, the point about 'earning money' through YouTube is not relevant to the topic of socializing with work colleagues. To improve, ensure every sentence directly supports the prompt and provides clear, logical reasoning for your own opinion, which is currently missing from the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is weak, and the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or misused (e.g., 'A part form this'). The connection between sentences within paragraphs is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow your line of reasoning. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'most of the masses' and 'everybody need'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express more complex ideas precisely. Some phrases are used incorrectly, such as 'socialise with the work partners', which sounds unnatural. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and avoiding informal or inaccurate phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise terms related to professional and social life will help you communicate your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('there are also a many application are used'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which hinders readability. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often inaccurate, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and apostrophes. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
