Student answer (Band 6.5)

Few people believe that investing time to know the co-workers after working hours or on weekends is good idea and on the opposite hand some folks thiks that, it is better to keep personal life entirely private from the corporate life. In my opinion, it completely depends on an individual and both the perspective has it's own pros and cons, which I will discuss in this essay below.

A working individual spent almost 9 to 10 hours of his day in the office which is pretty long time so it becomes essential to know the surrounding so a person can have someone to talk to. To accomplish that he/she can have chat over coffee or meet on a weekends to know each others interest and create a bond of comfortness. Moreover, this connection supports to have better communication with collegues and reduce unnecessary misunderstanding. In my opinon when a person understand other team members they can works as a team and accomlipsed common goals which helps their peronal growth as well hence few professional prefers to interacts with corporate buddies even outside the office setup.

In the organisation, there are all kinds of people which means some are extrovert, interovert or ambivert. Especially introvert folks are quite reserved and believe in maintaing privacy a lot. For instance, one of my collegue is very private, he avoids any conversationw which is personal like about family or kids because he feels that it is not important to discuss anyone's social life even if they are part of same team or friends and due to that some of the collegues of his does not like to talk to him as he do not get invloved that much within the team. I think, it is an advantage to know other person so he/she can get his/her work done easily.

To conclude my essay, I believe having healthy connection with a team at workplace is important because it creates a bond of trust and avoid any miscommunication and to do that some people invest their time to know other person even after the working hours.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of team bonding versus the need for personal privacy. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the second paragraph touches on team goals, but the explanation could be more nuanced. The third paragraph introduces the concept of personality types (introverts/extroverts) as a reason for keeping work and life separate, which is a good point, but the example provided is slightly repetitive. Overall, the position is consistent throughout the essay, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.5, which rounds to a 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. The use of cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'To conclude' helps guide the reader through the argument. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or the referencing is a bit awkward, such as in the phrase 'some of the collegues of his does not like to talk to him'. While the paragraphing is appropriate and the progression of ideas is generally clear, the occasional lack of smooth transitions between sentences prevents a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'corporate life', 'extrovert', and 'miscommunication'. However, there are several word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'bond of comfortness' (comfort), 'few professional prefers' (professionals prefer), and 'accomplised common goals' (accomplish). These errors do not impede communication, but they highlight a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('some folks thiks', 'collegues of his does not like') and pluralization ('few professional prefers', 'one of my collegue'). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. While the student attempts complex sentences, the frequency of these minor errors suggests that a Band 6.0 is the most accurate reflection of their current control over grammar.
