Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays people becomes more private in their lives because of unpredictable attitudes. Many people does not like to share their problems in public, others people like to share. It's depends upon the circumstances, experience, culture, traditions and attitudes of the people. Some people think that it's a good idea to socialise with work colleagues during evenings and weekends but other people it's important to keep working life completely separate from social life.

According to my opinion it's all about the people personalities. There are many personality types in psychological view point, some people have extrovert and some people are introvert and some are having both personality. Apart from this, the environment of workplace also matters a lot. If the environment is friendly people's interaction with eachother is good then definitely they want to spend time after office hours but if the environment is too strict then doesn't feel that type of bond towards each other.

On the other hand, many companies have their own apartments and those employees who are living in there they interact each other in evening. They both attend greetings and events. They also available in hard time. And that's a good idea to stand with in hard time.

Some people don't like to share their lives together. They come to workplace, they do their work, get paid and back home. It's not a bad attitude, its just a space maintained by them.

In conclusion, people have their own experiences and circumstances, background and personalities. Workplace environment is also play a pivotal role regarding this. W

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about company apartments is a specific example but is not fully linked back to the broader debate about work-life balance. The conclusion is abrupt and incomplete, which limits the overall impact of the argument. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a clear, well-supported reason for the perspective being discussed, and ensure the conclusion effectively synthesizes the main points presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. Transitions between sentences are often abrupt, such as the jump between the discussion of personality types and the workplace environment. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the logical flow of the conclusion. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly improve the coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'people' and 'environment'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary (e.g., 'extrovert', 'introvert', 'pivotal role'), there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'unpredictable attitudes' and 'attend greetings'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of synonyms to express complex ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue (e.g., 'people becomes', 'many people does not', 'environment is also play'). There are also errors in sentence structure and article usage. While the student attempts some complex sentences, they are often marred by these inaccuracies. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common errors in tense and word order. Increasing the variety of sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will also help raise the score.
