Student answer (Band 7.5)
Several individuals believe that socializing with workmates during evenings and weekends is a good idea while others argue on the importance of distinguishing work life from social life. In my own opinion, keeping social life separate from work life prevents individuals from excessive exposure of personal details to colleagues, but the importance of socializing with work colleagues after work hours cannot be overlooked because of some beneficial factors derived from it such as networking and increased productivity.
First and foremost, setting clear boundaries between professional life and socializing prevents colleagues from intruding individual privacy through details exposure. When people prevent the intersection of this two lifestyles, it helps them maintain privacy at workplace by having the assurance that no one else have any details about their personal life. Individuals who meet outside work hours to have fun, tend to discover internal details about their colleagues including information that are not allowed because they are free with each other at that moment leaving them with the risk of information vulnerability. For instance, recent findings shows that workers who meet at bars and lounges during evenings often disclose unethical personal details of each other after getting drunk with alcohol or even at clubs. Therefore, distinguishing professional life from social life protects people from the risk of disclosing their privacy among colleagues.
On the other hand, one of the major importance of socializing with workmates during evenings and weekends is the networking factor. Colleagues who meet after work usually introduce each other to real world opportunities by sharing beneficial information through past experience and personal connections. Furthermore, it also creates strong bond such as friendship between workmates, which also affects workplace productivity as well as efficiency through strengthened teamwork and collaboration. This additional advantages emphasizes the relevance of socializing with colleagues after work hours.
In conclusion, I think it is a good idea to socialize with colleagues at free times such as weekends and evenings because of the opportunities and advantages derived from it, which contributes to growth and development of individuals and even their productivity at workplace.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. Your position is consistent throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, particularly the points regarding networking and privacy. However, the development of the 'privacy' argument could be more nuanced; for instance, the example about 'getting drunk' is a bit extreme and slightly detracts from the professional tone. Overall, you have fulfilled the requirements of the task effectively, providing a balanced discussion that leads to a logical conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'On the other hand', and 'Therefore' to guide the reader through your arguments. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. While the flow is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing in the second paragraph (e.g., 'this two lifestyles') is slightly awkward. Nevertheless, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your ideas with precision. Phrases like 'distinguishing work life from social life', 'excessive exposure', and 'strengthened teamwork' are used effectively. There are some minor collocation issues, such as 'intruding individual privacy through details exposure' and 'information vulnerability', which are slightly unnatural. However, these do not impede communication. You attempt to use a variety of topic-specific vocabulary, which shows a good level of control, though further refinement in word choice would elevate the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'no one else have' (should be 'has'), 'information that are not allowed' (should be 'is'), and 'this two lifestyles' (should be 'these'). Despite these errors, your meaning is always clear, and the errors do not cause difficulty for the reader. You show a good attempt at using complex sentences, and your punctuation is generally accurate. To reach a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of demonstrative adjectives.
