Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is arguable whether it is a great idea to spend time with co-workers during evenings and weekends or it is better to keep professional life separate from personal life. This essay intends to discuss both views and give my own opinion.
First and foremost, it is an excellent idea to hangout with the colleagues because it helps people to know each other and build strong relationship. This will enhance the group productivity are work. To illustrate, if group of people already know each other more closely they will be more comfortable to work with each other and would give better results.
On the contrary side, if a person would not keep its work life and social life separate this will effect his life. Keeping balance among both is very essential due to the factor that people wants to spend their time with their families after the busy day at work. Additionally, people do not want to talk about work every time and also their relation with family would not be strong.
In my point of view, there should be the boundaries between work and personal life to avoid the conflicts not only at work but also in the family.
To conclude it, although socialization can improve the teamwork and workplace relationships, I believe people should protect their personal time. Therefore, maintaining a healthy balance between work and social life is the most practical approach.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited due to the brevity of the essay. The word count is below the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the depth of the discussion. While the main points are relevant, they lack sufficient supporting detail or specific examples to fully explore the implications of the topic. To improve, you should expand on your arguments with more detailed explanations and concrete examples to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'On the contrary side', and 'To conclude it' are used to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the overall progression of ideas feels slightly abrupt due to the limited length of the content. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'professional life', 'productivity', and 'boundaries'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'hangout with the colleagues' (should be 'hang out' or 'socialise') and 'effect his life' (should be 'affect'). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and variety required for higher band scores. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more sophisticated synonyms to express your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'if a person would not keep its work life' (should be 'their work life') and 'people wants to spend' (should be 'people want'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are minor errors in sentence construction. To reach a higher band, you need to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and ensure better control over subject-verb agreement and pronoun usage.
