Student answer (Band 7.0)
In recent years, the work culture has become a hot topic. While many argue that socializing with the colleagues during free times is a better option, whereas others feels that there should a boundary between social and work life. This essay will discuss both sides and I think people should keep connection between professional and social life.
On one hand, doing activities with the coworker outside the office hours has its own advantages. To start with, It will lead to better teamwork. For instance, if two associates are spending their evening time doing some recreation such as playing tennis, running or painting, they will get to know each others strengths and weakness. As a result, when they start to work in a project, their team will have better results than others. Moreover, colleagues will have a strong emotional bonds. When they socialize, they known the personal sides of each other, consequently they will give a support when there is a problem in ones life.
On the other hand, there are so many benefits if we keep a barrier between work and social life. Firstly, it will prevent burnout. If we did not find time for our family and loved ones, our life will be bored. This will have a negative impact on our mental well-being. Secondly, it can protects privacy of the organization which we work for. For example, when we have lots of time with the coworkers , we will discuss about the topic which is against the policy of that firm, eventually it will affect the job.
To conclude, keeping a strict barrier between professional and personal life will not have healthy life. I strongly believe that since both views have its own merits, one have to strongly maintain a balanced work and social connection.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as teamwork and burnout, and are supported with examples. However, the development is somewhat brief, and the conclusion is slightly contradictory; you state you want to keep a 'connection' but then argue for a 'balanced' approach, which could be more clearly articulated. To reach a higher band, ensure your arguments are fully extended and that your position remains consistent throughout the essay. Overall, the task is well-covered, and the main points are logically presented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. You use cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'Moreover', and 'Firstly' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'the organization which we work for' (which could be more concisely phrased). The flow is generally smooth, though the final sentence of the conclusion is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'recreation', 'well-being', and 'professional'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'doing some recreation' (recreation is usually uncountable) and 'give a support' (support is uncountable here). Additionally, 'known the personal sides' should be 'get to know'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated, topic-specific collocations would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('others feels', 'one have to') and article usage ('a boundary', 'a balanced'). There are also some awkward phrasings, such as 'will not have healthy life' and 'if we did not find time'. While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that articles are used correctly with countable and uncountable nouns.
