Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern era, several people opine that spending more time with coworkers are beneficial for them in workplace. While others are in oppose say that we should not mix our personal life with professional one. I also agree with the statement as it is essential for the peaceful life.

On the one hand, socializing with workmates creates great bonds in workplace to help them work together. Spending time together at the end of the work day or playing games enhances communication, helps to understand each other's personality. We get to know more about our colleges and what is going on in the workplace. For instance information regarding the new position and opportunity. However, there will be no line between personal life and social.

On the other hand, when we keep our private life separate from work it creates balance between them. People behave differently when they are working and when they are home. There is no need to show their fullest strength in performing tasks at home while in contrary if we do not give our best when surrounded by people from workplace we feel judge and there are chances of its impact on our job. For instance, being late for gathering with work colleges and getting tag for being late next day in office.

To conclude, I believe it is always advantages to keep work-life away from personal to maintain harmony. This two are crucial part of our lives one help us to grow financially and socially while other personally. Maintaining balance among them is vital to live a fruitful life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that socializing helps with 'new positions and opportunities,' this point is not fully expanded. Similarly, the argument for keeping work and life separate is a bit repetitive and lacks a concrete, well-explained example. The example regarding being late for a gathering is slightly confusing and does not clearly illustrate the negative impact of mixing social and professional lives. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main point is supported by a clear, logical explanation or a more detailed, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'while in contrary' and 'This two are crucial.' The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'professional,' 'harmony,' and 'financially.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'in oppose say,' 'colleges' (when you mean 'colleagues'), and 'getting tag for being late.' These errors do not generally impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations for professional contexts and ensure you distinguish between similar-sounding words like 'colleague' and 'college.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a good start. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('spending more time... are beneficial') and incorrect pluralization ('This two are crucial'). Additionally, there are missing articles and prepositions, such as 'in workplace' instead of 'in the workplace.' While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
