Student answer (Band 6.0)
Human's are social animal, everyone needs someone with whom they can share something. Some opine that socializing with colleagues after work or on weekends is a benevolent idea. However, others opine that socializing at work is not a great thing to do. I agree with the latter opinion and would discuss both the views.
To begin with, having friends at workplace makes the work easy and joyful. Additionally, it sounds great for numerous individuals who nowadays migrate to other cities, ultimately it is hard to manage everything at a new place in such situation having friends at workplace helps a lot. Secondly, having friends to hangout and chill even if they are work buddies is great. People who are friends during childhood sometimes due to work or any other reason do not tend to live lifelong together so it has to find good people with whom you can make a bond thus having good friends at workplace is a boon.
Trusting someone is very hard thing to do especially when you do not know the person since long. Moreover, sharing your own secrets with your colleague can sometime backfire. For instance, many people feel that when they have shared something with someone on the workplace regarding to work sometimes reaches till the higher people. Ultimately, it could hamper the progress of the professional because they would lose the trust in them. So sharing anything with anyone is always a riskier thing to do.
To sum up, it is okay to make friends with the people you get the vibe and happiness but trusting a person and sharing some private informati

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the conclusion is incomplete, which impacts the overall development of the task. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat under-developed; for instance, the point about 'migrating to other cities' is mentioned but not fully linked to the benefits of workplace socialising. The argument regarding the risks of sharing secrets is clear, but the essay lacks a cohesive final summary due to the abrupt ending. To improve, ensure that all paragraphs are fully developed and that the conclusion effectively synthesises the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Additionally', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. However, the referencing is occasionally mechanical, and the abrupt ending of the final paragraph disrupts the overall flow. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is generally smooth, but the lack of a completed conclusion makes the overall structure feel unfinished. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring a complete, well-structured conclusion would enhance the coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common items like 'benevolent' and 'hamper'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'Human's are social animal' (should be 'Humans are social animals'), 'since long' (should be 'for a long time'), and 'reaches till the higher people' (should be 'reaches management' or 'reaches superiors'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the writing. Expanding the range of vocabulary and focusing on accurate collocations will help in achieving a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Human's are social animal') and punctuation/article errors. Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'it has to find good people', which affects the clarity of the expression. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralisation, articles, and sentence construction, to ensure that complex structures are used correctly.
