Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is argued by some to make a good relation ship with co-workers by spending time in evenings and weekends while, others argue to keep their social life away from work life. This essay is going to give a detail discussion about both the perspectives before coming to a conclusion.
First of all, individuals who spend more time with their colleagues found working more efficiently due to the strong bond developed among them which benefits the organization in terms of productivity. Moreover, socialising each others on free times such as weekends and evening after works gradually builds a good relationship among them which leads to a easy communication in their work space. For instance, in my workplace whenever I need any help I can call my co-workers without any hesitation and they are happy to help me in any time only because of maintaining a good relationship with all of them.
However, while keeping work life and social life separate people are getting more available to their family and friends and this quality time plays a crucial role in an individuals mental happiness. Furthermore, by reducing spending time with work friends they will get enough time to concentrate on their hobbies and other things which makes them relaxed. For example, a study conducted by University of Toronto found that workers who keeps their work and social life separate less stress in their life.
In conclusion, even though maintaining work life and social life together by spending more time will leads to develop a strong relationship among works and helps their work, it might compromise the relation ship among their family and friends if they spend too much time with their colleagues. In my point of view a well balance is required among work and social life to get a successful life

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of workplace bonding versus the importance of personal time for mental health. However, the development is somewhat limited; the points are presented clearly but lack depth or detailed elaboration. For example, the mention of the University of Toronto study is a good attempt at support, but the explanation of how this impacts the broader work-life balance debate could be more nuanced. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', 'However', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader through the argument. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. Referencing is generally clear, although some minor issues with sentence-level flow exist, such as the slightly awkward phrasing in the opening sentence. Overall, the structure is effective and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'productivity' and 'compromise', which are used correctly. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'relation ship' (should be 'relationship'), 'socialising each others' (should be 'socialising with each other'), and 'a easy communication'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the range and precision of the language. More variety in collocations would help elevate the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'individuals who spend more time... found working more efficiently' (tense inconsistency), 'workers who keeps' (subject-verb agreement), and 'a well balance is required' (article usage). Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout. The punctuation is generally functional, though the sentence structure in the introduction is slightly cluttered. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to focus on consistent subject-verb agreement and more accurate use of articles and prepositions.
