Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that spending time with co-workers during evenings and weekends is beneficial but on the other hand some prefer to keep work life completely separate from social life.
Firstly, one of the main advantage of going out with your work peers on weekends is vital as it helps to build friendships and stronger connections which would further improve bonds among teammates. I would like to mention a example from our work. I work at The Home Depot store where we often make plans and go on parties which helped me gain knowledge from my peers which also helped in growth of our company. The environment of our workplace becomes very calm, friendly, stress relief and enjoyable.
On the other hand, some persons think work life is separate from social life because some of them are introverts so they prefer either their own company or their childhood friends. They are shy to open up with other individuals which sometimes make them feel insecure and left over around other group of individuals. For example, one of my friend prefer to stay alone and hesitate to talk as she feel they may judge her just because of her past childhood trauma that she faced in her school times.
In my own opinion, we should meet our co-workers outside the work to make our bond stronger and should share our problems so that they can help us and understand our feelings to make ourselves feel safe and secure around them. But the people who avoid socialising themselves is their personal choice so we should respect them rather than judging.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide a personal example regarding your workplace, the explanation of why some people prefer to keep work and social life separate is a bit anecdotal and could be more analytical. The conclusion is clear, but the overall depth of the discussion is somewhat basic. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more detailed reasoning or broader implications rather than relying solely on personal anecdotes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In my own opinion'. However, the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the phrase 'some of them are introverts' where the antecedent is slightly unclear. The logical flow is generally maintained, but more sophisticated linking words or phrases would improve the overall cohesion of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You use common phrases like 'make plans', 'go on parties', and 'stay alone'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'left over' instead of 'left out' and 'a example' instead of 'an example'. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to professional environments and social dynamics. While the meaning is always clear, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, preventing the essay from reaching a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'one of the main advantage' (should be 'advantages'), 'one of my friend' (should be 'friends'), and 'as she feel' (should be 'feels'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with sentence boundaries and article usage. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and pluralization will significantly improve your accuracy.
