Student answer (Band 6.5)
Few individuals believe that it is an excellent idea to hang out with work colleagues during evenings and weekends. while other think that it is necessary to keep working life completely private from social life.
I believe that it is a great idea if people socialise with their workmates during vacation or free time rather than keep their work life private from their social lives. For more clarification, I can discuss both views along with my perspective in the upcoming paragraphs.
Primarily, there are some pupils who think that it is a great approach if they socialise with their work colleagues during evenings or weekends, as they know more about each other, which helps to make them more comfortable so they can share their views, thoughts, and experiences without any hesitation. For instance, a survey took place in Microsoft Company in Seattle in 2019 among 600 software engineers, which found that those who hang out with each other in their free time are more confident as they share their ideas and experiences as opposed to individuals who keep their social lives private.
While on the other side, some people think that to keep their social life private with work mates are beneficial as they stop gossiping and reduce stress.
To explain, if people keep their social live separate from their work colleagues, then they share less thoughts, which means coworkers have less fuel for rumors. Apart from that, people don't have to worry about any judgment from their teammates, which reduces stress levels as they just communicate about work and keep their social life separate from them.
I agree with that people who socialise with teammates at weekends or in their free time as they know more about each other which fills them in confident so they can share their thoughts or ideas without any hesitation. Moreover, they share their experience which results they grow and feel comfortable in work environment.
In conclusion, few people believe that hangout is good idea with teammates during holidays or free time so they feel comfortable and enjoy at workplace while others think that keeping their social life separate is great so they don't have any stress of judgement or have less rumour in work environment. i think that hanging out with teammates is good extent as every colluegue feel comfortable and enjoy at work place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of socialising for team cohesion and the advantages of privacy for stress reduction. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the conclusion and the body paragraphs. The example regarding the Microsoft survey is specific, which is a strength, but the overall depth of the argument could be improved by exploring the potential downsides of socialising with colleagues (e.g., blurred professional boundaries) more thoroughly. The position is consistent throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Primarily', 'While on the other side', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'For more clarification, I can discuss...'. Additionally, there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints and the introduction/conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'hesitation', 'rumors', and 'teammates'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'keep their working life completely private' (instead of 'separate'), 'fills them in confident' (grammatically incorrect), and 'hanging out with teammates is good extent'. These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise control over word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('other think', 'every colluegue feel'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('which results they grow'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that occasionally distract the reader. The majority of sentences are understandable, but the frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band score. Greater attention to basic grammatical accuracy is required.
