Student answer (Band 6.0)
Several people believe that meeting the colleagues after the work or on the weekends and be friends to them is fun. Meanwhile, others think one should differentiate work colleagues from social life. I will explain both sides and provide my opinion on it.
On the one hand, there are individuals, who are very friendly and extrovert in nature always try to bond with their work mates. They think socializing with people around them is enjoyable. For example, people at multinational company with huge employee base often host events for their employees so that they can connect more personally and that helps them understand to each other. This creates emotional attachment with their colleagues and that helps to grow as a team on professional level.
On the other hand, some humans prefers to keep working life separate from personal life. They do not want their personal biases to indulge into the company. Rather, they prefer to make a different set of friends outside and make trips and events with them. I think, they feel they will be observed or judged by their work people if they hang out with them. But, sometimes making distance from your work and colleagues creates good impact to your mind.
In my opinion and to conclude, both types of people are important. you have to understand which category you are into? and where you are comfortable? Then only you can decide on it. Nothing is wrong or right, everything is subjective and personal based. Do whatever makes you happy, socialize with the colleagues or completely make new friends.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding the benefits of socializing is supported by a general example of a multinational company, but the explanation remains quite basic. Similarly, the counter-argument about keeping work and life separate lacks depth, relying on general statements rather than specific, well-reasoned points. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples that clearly illustrate the 'why' behind your points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In my opinion' to signal transitions between ideas. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. For example, the transition between the idea of 'personal biases' and 'making trips' is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences within paragraphs are more tightly connected would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'extrovert', 'multinational', 'professional level', and 'subjective'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'meeting the colleagues after the work' (should be 'meeting colleagues after work') and 'make trips and events' (should be 'go on trips or attend events'). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the colleagues', 'the work'), prepositions, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some humans prefers'). There are also some punctuation issues, such as unnecessary question marks in the conclusion ('which category you are into?'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining your use of complex sentence structures will help improve your score.
