Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people believe that socializing with coworkers in the evening, and weekends, is a good idea. whereas, others think that it is essential to keep social life seperate from work. I believe that keeping social life seperate is more beneficial.
On the one hand, there are several benefits of socializing with coworkers. The most common one is that it creates strong bond between coworkers. This helps them to understand each-other better, and provide support to each-other in the worst situation. Furthermore, it also make the employees more productive. To simplyfy, if the employees knows each-other well, they will communicate, and coordinate in the work tasks. As a result, it will lead to growth of not only employees but also corporations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 120 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you introduce both sides of the argument and state a clear position, the ideas are significantly under-developed. You have not provided a conclusion or fully explored the opposing view (keeping work and life separate), which is a requirement of the prompt. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed examples and ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed in full.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows a basic level of organization with clear paragraphing. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, because the essay is incomplete, the overall progression is stunted. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraph is functional, but the lack of a concluding paragraph and a second body paragraph limits the coherence of the piece. To improve, ensure you have a clear structure: introduction, two body paragraphs (one for each view), and a conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic. You use some relevant terms like 'coworkers', 'productive', and 'corporations', but there is a lack of variety and precision. There are also minor spelling errors, such as 'seperate' (separate) and 'simplyfy' (simplify). To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to the professional environment and work-life balance, while ensuring accurate spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur frequently, such as 'it also make' (should be 'makes') and 'if the employees knows' (should be 'know'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas in the opening sentence. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent punctuation to improve your accuracy.
