Student answer (Band 5.0)
Socialising in today’s ear is considered as an essential element to create a good balance between your work colleagues. The majority of people considered this as an important aspect, other half just like to keep it separate from their professional life. I believe having a balance between both personal and professional life would must considered a good idea. My essay further explains both the views with some relevant examples, following my review at the end.
To begin with, meeting people out of office hours especially on weekends or holidays allows employees to create healthy relationships amongst them, by sharing their useful thoughts either about work or personal problems. For instance, going to picnic spot

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 114 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the development of ideas is severely limited. While the introduction attempts to outline the two views and state an opinion, the body paragraph is cut off mid-sentence, preventing any meaningful exploration of the arguments or the provision of a conclusion. Because the response is incomplete and fails to meet the minimum length requirement, it cannot be awarded a score higher than a 4.0 for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the abrupt ending makes it impossible to evaluate the overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used in a basic manner, such as 'To begin with' and 'For instance', but the lack of a full response means that the logical flow is disrupted. The text does not demonstrate the ability to organise ideas into a coherent whole, which is necessary for higher band scores.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are errors in word choice, such as 'today’s ear' (likely meant 'era') and 'balance between your work colleagues' (which is semantically unclear). The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is no evidence of the ability to use less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions effectively. The errors present do not entirely impede communication, but they do highlight a restricted lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar contains several noticeable errors that affect the quality of the writing. For example, 'would must considered' is grammatically incorrect, and 'The majority of people considered this' shows an inconsistent use of tense. The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the attempt at a more complex structure resulted in a grammatical error. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors and the lack of a wide range of complex structures limit the score to a 5.0.
