Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this rapidly changing world many people are making it normal to socialise with work colleagues at weekends and during different occasions. At the same time, some people argue that there should be a boundary between personal and professional life. This essay will discuss both of the views before explaining that why I believe that society should normalise to go out and have fun with people from work.
On the one hand, the new generation people often like to make new connections and strong bonds at the workplace. Moreover, working people in the metropolitan cities often live away from their families and friends, so it is more common for them to get attached to their colleagues and spend time outside of the workplace. On top of that, it has some benefits for the productivity at the workplace. For example, it helps to ease the competition, stress and tension during the work hours. Businesses and firms always get benefits from strong team bonds.
On the other hand, for some people it is not a wise decision to mix up social and work life. The most common reason here is that when colleagues know every aspect of others life it can ruin the workplace peace. For example, some colleagues with bad intensions can create problems due to competition at the workplace. Moreover, when people lose all the privacy and make everything transparent to their colleagues it can create problems in their peronal life.
In my opinion, it should be normalise for people to get together from their workplace, where they can make life-long friends and helpful connections for the future. Along with that, they should invite the only people who have true intensions for them.
In the conclusion, however, some people prefer to keep workplace people from their personal and social life, but some believes that small get togethers with their colleagues can give them some benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of team bonding versus the potential for workplace conflict. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the argument regarding 'productivity' is mentioned but not fully explored with specific examples. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is supported by more detailed explanation or concrete examples rather than just stating the idea.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'On top of that' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The concluding paragraph is a bit weak, as it restates the prompt rather than summarizing the main arguments effectively. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use some less common vocabulary, such as 'metropolitan' and 'transparent'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'normalise to go out' (should be 'normalise going out') and 'bad intensions' (should be 'bad intentions'). Spelling errors like 'peronal' and 'intensions' also occur. To improve, the student should focus on refining collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of common academic vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions, such as 'normalise to go out' and 'some believes' (should be 'some believe'). There are also minor issues with article usage and sentence construction. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly enhance the quality of the writing.
