Student answer (Band 5.0)

people think that socialise with your colleaques and spend time with them, make them happy, especially when your work is hard, but on the other hand some people think when you separate your working life from social life is a good idea. when we talk about the workers whop think socialise with your colleques is just like lose the burden from them, and make them happy they think when your bond is good with your colleaques you spend a quality time with them, in my opinion, its a good way to improve your friends circle and when you have a friend like colleaqe is important for the work no matter where you work and what time you take for your, in the hard time they always here to litsen when you need to talk with a person like your friend. when we talk about the people who think when you live alone and keep your working life separate i think its a bad idea its not good thing that was not low blow its importabnt how you keep your friend circle strong, as far as i think you need to improve your company and make a strong bond with your colleaques. to be honest when you spend time with your colleaques you share your thoughts about work and its very important when you have knowledge and when you share your plans with them and make them motivated

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, but the development of ideas is limited. The essay is under the 250-word minimum, which significantly impacts the depth of the discussion. Arguments are repetitive, such as the repeated mention of 'making colleagues happy' and 'friend circles', without providing concrete examples or nuanced reasoning. The position is clear, but the lack of elaboration prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with specific examples or hypothetical scenarios to meet the length requirement and provide a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the paragraphing is non-existent, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'when we talk about'. The flow between sentences is often disjointed, and the lack of logical transitions between the two opposing views makes the argument feel like a series of loosely connected thoughts rather than a cohesive essay. Using clear paragraph breaks and transition words like 'furthermore', 'conversely', or 'in conclusion' would greatly improve the readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. Words like 'colleagues' (often misspelled as 'colleaques') and 'happy' are used frequently. There is little attempt to use less common or academic vocabulary. Spelling errors are frequent, which distracts the reader. To improve, you should focus on learning synonyms for common words and practicing the correct spelling of key terms. Expanding your range to include more precise, topic-specific vocabulary—such as 'work-life balance', 'professional boundaries', or 'camaraderie'—would help demonstrate a higher level of lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, sentence fragments, and run-on sentences. For example, 'when we talk about the workers whop think socialise with your colleques is just like lose the burden' is grammatically incoherent. Punctuation is also problematic, with a lack of proper sentence boundaries. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and work on using commas and periods correctly to separate ideas.
