Student answer (Band 6.0)

A large number of people claim that socializing with the workmates after working hours is good. However, others believe that they should only meet in working hours rather than on the weekend or evenings because work life has it own place so it should be separated. In the subsequents segments I will elaborate the both views along my own opinion.

Commencing with most prominent reason why meetings are goods after work? To be more clear, it is good for colleagues to meet with each other during the evenings because they can share the ideas to each others which leads to improve their image at workplace also grasping good ideas bring more productivity in a work that also assist to get the high position. So meeting on weekends or during evening with working staff would be worth.

Moving to the paradoxical side, the other reason of this trend is that individuals should not meet on weekend or evening with their mates because the time after spending with the workers is not considered anywhere so the same time that they devote to staff can be given to their family members which leads to strengthen the relations and make good bondings, also by spending time with loved ones bring the better understanding and positive attitudes.

In my own opinion, it is evident that I am strongly in favour working life has its own time because they can clear their question by meet with boss than to discuss with colleagues. Also, giving quality time to family reduce the stress and bring happiness in the life. So it is important to keep working life completely separate from social life.

Finally, according to aforementioned domains no doubt people can clear their doubt by meeting with workmates and, run smoother their work life. However, working life is not important as much as family people so it should be separated from personal or social life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for socializing is restricted to 'improving image' and 'productivity', which are slightly repetitive. The counter-argument regarding family time is better developed but remains somewhat generic. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of why these social interactions might be beneficial or detrimental in a professional context. The position is consistent throughout, but the depth of the arguments needs to be more substantial to fully satisfy the requirements of a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Commencing with', 'Moving to the paradoxical side', and 'Finally', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'In the subsequents segments I will elaborate the both views'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences feel disjointed. Improving the variety and natural flow of your linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'productivity', 'paradoxical', and 'aforementioned'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'meetings are goods', 'grasping good ideas', and 'run smoother their work life'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more sophisticated vocabulary to convey your points with greater nuance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('meetings are goods'), article usage ('in a work'), and word order ('I am strongly in favour working life'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings that make the text feel less natural. To reach a higher band, you need to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and ensure that your complex structures are grammatically accurate. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and preposition usage.
