Student answer (Band 6.0)
Socialising is very common these days whether it’s office colleagues or with friends other than office.
Some people think it’s a good idea to hangout with work colleagues during weekends and evenings while some people thinks it’s important to keep the working life completely separate from the social life. This essay will shed light on both opinions and also in the end it will have my opinion.
On the one side, some people usually go out on weekends with their office employees it’s because they want to have a good relation with them and make a good bond which will help them in the office also. Usually, we see people just come to the office do their work and go back to the home and they want to just stay on their own and want to make no new friends.
On the other side, some people thinks it’s better to keep your work life completely separate from social life its because they think when office colleagues are included in their social life then only most of the problems starts. Usually you also have ur childhood friends with whom you use to spent time on the weekends. And then you start giving less time to those friends if you are spending your weekends with the office friends. Also, the office colleagues will bring all your office work and any issue they have with someone into those weekend outings which may be not good.
In my opinion, it’s better to keep your work life completely separate from social life it’s because I don’t want to bring any tensions in my social life and I already have my childhood friends with whom I am happy to hangout as they won’t be bringing any tensions to worry about.
To recapitulate, it depends all on the person whether they want to mix their work life with social life or not but I think it’s better to keep it separate.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the benefits of socializing with colleagues is quite brief and relies on general statements rather than specific examples. Similarly, the counter-argument about potential conflicts is a bit repetitive. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand your points with more detailed explanations or concrete scenarios. While your position is clear throughout, the overall depth of the analysis is more characteristic of a Band 6, as the ideas are relevant but could be more thoroughly explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one side' and 'On the other side' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the use of linking words is quite repetitive. For example, the phrase 'it’s because' is used multiple times to introduce explanations, which makes the writing feel a bit simplistic. To improve, try to vary your cohesive devices and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more fluid. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be more sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use common words effectively, such as 'socialise', 'colleagues', and 'tensions'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a lack of less common or more precise vocabulary. You tend to repeat simple phrases like 'good relation' and 'good bond'. To achieve a higher score, you should attempt to use more varied and precise collocations or academic vocabulary. Additionally, there are minor errors in word choice, such as 'go back to the home' instead of 'go home', which slightly impacts the naturalness of your expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some people thinks') and article usage. You also have some issues with punctuation and informal phrasing, such as using 'ur' instead of 'your'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to limit the score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures with more precision.
