Student answer (Band 6.0)

The vast majority of people often fave dilemma over whether it is a good notion to socialise with work colleagues during holidays and in the evenings .while, others think that individuals should keep separete their working life from social life. This essay will discuss both views and present my ownopinion.

To begin with, spending time during evenings and holidays with their colleagues can positively help them to developing a strong bonds and friendly relations between them. Only when can they share exeprience, personal thoughts and ideas if they spend enough time with them. For instance, having workload and stress in the workplace may create some issues for them. Such as they may have not enough time to socialise with their mates. Therefore it is a great idea to spend time with them outside work in the evenings and weekends.

On the other hand, it would be hard to disagree that, it is important keep office life totally separate from social life however, I believe that if they sharing personal experiences, family secrets and problems can create some detrimental problems for them. For instance, a well- know singers always keep private about thier familiy and lives and background from their professional life which can negatively impact their lives.

I personally believe that although it is important to spend time with their colleages to develop communication skills and strong relations. Moreover they should keep their hide about their personal lives from professional life. For instance, if people want to maintain a balance between personal life and professional so they try to cope with their colleages in a professional way

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The arguments regarding the benefits of socialising are clear, but the counter-argument regarding the risks of sharing personal information is slightly underdeveloped and relies on a weak example involving singers. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesise the points made. To improve, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations and more relevant, real-world examples to support your claims, ensuring that your position is consistently clear and well-supported throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'Therefore'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the use of 'Moreover' in the final paragraph, which does not logically connect to the preceding sentence. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, and the flow between ideas could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used to create logical relationships between sentences will help elevate your score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'fave dilemma' (likely meant 'face a dilemma'), 'keep their hide' (likely meant 'keep hidden'), and 'well-know singers'. Some collocations are also unnatural, such as 'coping with their colleagues'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise vocabulary to express your ideas. You should also proofread carefully to avoid basic spelling errors like 'separete', 'exeprience', and 'thier'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Only when can they share exeprience' (incorrect word order), 'if they sharing' (incorrect verb form), and 'having workload and stress... may create some issues for them. Such as they may have not enough time' (fragmented sentence). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct sentence construction, and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically sound.
