Student answer (Band 6.0)
Its belived by some people its a good idea to socialise with work colleagues during evenings and weekends, while the other groups of people think quite opposite of this and they think keep working life completely separate from social life, in this essay we will discuss both the views.
It is obviously a good idea to socialise with your colleagues while you are not working specially during evenings or at weekend, this will help employees develop a bond and understanding each other which will help them work as a team while they are working on projects or to achive critical team goal and make the working enviorment safe and freindly for all.
However, it is also crucial to keep your work life and social life completely seperate to maintain professionalsim and harmony between work and personal life, people should also priortrize giving time to their family and freinds this will help them to focus on other things in life which makes them feel happy and relaxed, which is usually not the case when people are with their colleauges as there is alway a sense of restriction or a barrier naturally present due to professionalism, which will not help them open up about their problems in personal life when they are socializing with their colleauges, which is quite opposite when they are spending time with their close freinds or family memebers they open up and discuss their personal live without any hesitation.
I frimly belive work life and social life should be balanced equally as they cannot be ignored or giving priority to one and not to other, you can always make great freinds with your colleagues when you socialise with them, this will have benefits of its own, when you are not focused on work and need someone to talk about it or need any immediate help with anything, you always have a confidence that you have a colleauge freind who you can talk to which is only possible when you socialise with your colleauges.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of team bonding versus the need for personal space. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the third paragraph, where the explanation of why people open up more to family is slightly circular. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more distinct, nuanced examples rather than restating the same point in different ways. The position is consistent throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. However, the flow is hindered by the heavy reliance on comma splices and run-on sentences. For example, the first paragraph is one long, grammatically loose sentence. While cohesive devices like 'However' and 'In this essay' are used, the internal structure of sentences often feels mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the lack of varied sentence punctuation makes the text feel less cohesive than it could be. Improving the use of full stops and subordinating conjunctions would significantly enhance the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at topic-specific language, such as 'professionalism', 'harmony', and 'critical team goal'. However, there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'belived', 'achive', 'enviorment', 'freindly', 'seperate', 'priortrize', 'frimly'). These errors are noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. To improve, you should focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and try to incorporate a wider range of less common collocations to demonstrate more flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay relies heavily on simple and compound structures, often connected by commas where full stops or semicolons are required. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Its belived', 'people... think keep working life') and missing articles. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of complex sentence control is evident. The frequent punctuation errors and run-on sentences indicate a need for more practice with sentence boundaries and complex structures. The current level of accuracy is inconsistent, which limits the score in this criterion.
