Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people think that being socializing with work employees during evenings and weekends are good idea but on the other side, some think that it's good to maintain social life and working life different.

In my view, both statements are correct. I will share my views on both statement in upcoming paragraphs.

To start with, working environment, people usually work 5 days in a week with same people or colleagues and spend most of the time together and talking regarding work or sometimes personal things. According to me its good to spend more time at out of office so that they can openly talk because in offices, people do not have more time to talk because of work load and rules. It is good idea so that they can gather together on weekends and know each other. From this, better understandings can develop and they can work more efficiently at office.

However, it is also good to keep peronal life separate from working life because people are going to work earn money and if they doing socializing so they cannot put attention on work. Another reason is, its good to keep personal life as personal because if someone share their personal things at work, they do not know other person's attentions, sometimes they can take wrong way or make fun.

In conclusion, it is good to enjoy at weekends with colleagues so they can get know each other more but maintain personal life from work life is also good because no one can know about other person's thinking.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the benefits of socializing is supported by the idea of 'better understandings,' but this is not fully explored with concrete examples. Similarly, the counter-argument about maintaining a separate personal life is a bit repetitive and lacks depth. To improve, you should aim to expand your points with more specific, illustrative examples rather than relying on general statements. Your position is clear, but the overall development remains at a basic level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To start with,' 'However,' and 'In conclusion,' which provide a basic framework. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'It is good idea so that they can gather...'). The progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother; some sentences feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic, repetitive phrasing such as 'good idea' and 'working life.' There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'being socializing' (should be 'socializing') and 'attentions' (should be 'intentions'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary limits the score. To improve, try to incorporate more varied synonyms and precise collocations related to professional and social dynamics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'being socializing... are good idea'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'they can take wrong way'). While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, before attempting more complex structures.
