Some individuals believe it is not a bad idea to spend time with their co-workers after working hours. However, others think the work life should be totally separated from the social life. Both views will be discussed in the following paragraphs with the relevant examples.
One of the most prominent reason to socialize with work colleagues is to make the bonding more strong. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the response is incomplete; it ends abruptly in the middle of the concluding sentence, which means the final summary and the clear articulation of the writer's own opinion are missing. While the ideas presented in the body paragraphs are relevant, the lack of a finished conclusion significantly impacts the overall development of the response. To improve, ensure that all parts of the prompt are fully addressed and that the essay reaches a logical and complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'However' to link ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the logical flow of the text. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the abrupt ending makes the overall structure feel unfinished. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that each paragraph is fully developed and leads to a coherent conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'prominent' and 'coordination', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'make the bonding more strong' instead of 'strengthen the bond' and 'different believes' instead of 'different beliefs'. Spelling errors like 'manger' for 'manager' also occur. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and proofreading for spelling and word-form accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout, including subject-verb agreement issues ('one of the most prominent reason') and incorrect verb forms ('he is suppose to'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the incomplete final sentence is a major issue. While the errors do not consistently impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage will help improve the accuracy of your writing.
