Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, containing only 72 words. Because the essay is incomplete and stops mid-sentence, it fails to address the prompt's requirements for a balanced discussion and a clear personal opinion. The ideas are not developed, and the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words, providing full paragraphs for each viewpoint and a clear conclusion that states your own opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text is too short to demonstrate effective paragraphing or logical progression. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'However' and 'Therefore', the overall structure is fragmented because the essay ends abruptly. The introduction is present, but the lack of body paragraphs and a conclusion makes it impossible to assess your ability to organize ideas coherently. Focus on planning your essay into four distinct paragraphs: introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is basic and contains several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'split opinion' instead of 'divided opinions' and 'thinker' instead of 'people'. The range of vocabulary is very limited, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to work-life balance and social dynamics, and ensure you use words in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the short text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Some believes', 'both has it's') and punctuation errors (unnecessary commas). The sentence structures are simple and contain errors that occasionally impede the flow of the text. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that apostrophes are used correctly for possession rather than pluralization.
