Student answer (Band 6.0)

People have different views about whether coworkers should meet after busy working days for having some fun together in evening or weekend .While some people think that it is a good idea while other believe that working life should be separated from social life. In my point of views, people should meet there colleague on some occasions and should spend rest of time after work with there families and other friends.

First and Foremost reason behind why colleagues should meet after work, In daily routine workers most of the time everybody is busy in there hectic tasks which cause they could not able to intract with each other properly. Therefore, meeting after work for having some fun help them to know each other more closely which help them to build strong bond between them. For Instance, when I joined my last work I did not know anyone at my job than we made a plane to go on fare together which help me to make some new good friends. Another reason, Sometimes situations happen when workers have debate on some reason but because of hectic working hours they do not get time to solve the issue. Meeting after work and solve the issue while having party with your other colleague also helps to maintain healthy relationship at work.

On the other hand, after long working hours if individual go for get-together with their company friends than it will be very difficult for them to give some time to their family and it will create emotional gap between them. For example, One of my uncles had divorce last years because he never came home till late night and always go out for dinner with there coworkers rather than spending time with his wife. Moreover, It will also difficult for them to manage their personal life due to shortage of time if they came made daily plane.

In conclusion, Although people should go out with their friends who work with them sometime, they should also give enough time to their family and their personal life by making proper schedule .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of team bonding versus the potential for work-life imbalance. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding resolving workplace conflicts is introduced but not fully explored with sufficient depth. The position is consistent throughout, but the supporting examples, while personal, could be more effectively integrated to strengthen the overall argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more nuanced reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and Foremost', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition 'Another reason, Sometimes situations happen'. Additionally, there are issues with referencing and sentence-level flow, such as the repetitive use of 'there' instead of 'their'. While the overall progression is clear, the management of cohesion could be more sophisticated and fluid to improve the logical flow between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'hectic tasks', 'intract' (intended as interact), and 'emotional gap'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'there' instead of 'their', 'plane' instead of 'plan', and 'fare' instead of 'fair'. These errors are noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on accurate spelling and selecting more precise collocations to convey their points with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the student attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and tense consistency (e.g., 'he never came home... and always go out'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing commas. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve the score.
