Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is crystal clear that nowadays almost everyone is busy in their working life, so everyone needs a break or rest from their job for a couple of days, such as weekends or rest in the evening time after work. While some people believe that socialise time with work colleagues during evenings and weekends are better choice. Others argue that working life is supposed to be separate from private life. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own view.
On the one hand, supporters of the statement that working life should be separate from social life, because they believe everyone needs some private space or time for their families. Moreover, we see some cases of back pain mostly in those who are not giving time to their health due to spending too much time with their job colleagues. For instance, according to a report published by The United States, 30% of young people under the age of 35 are facing high health issues due to lack of time for fitness and spending more time in work environment.
On the other hand, many believe that it is good if people spend their break time or weekends with colleagues in workplace. So that they can give more time to their job tasks and colleagues. Which could help them to build strong relations. Moreover, they will get more experience in current job.
In conclusion, I agree with this statement that working life should be separate from social life. Because everyone should spend some time with families and for fitness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The argument regarding health issues is a bit tangential and lacks a direct logical link to the topic of socialising with colleagues. Furthermore, the second body paragraph is quite brief and lacks specific examples or deeper explanation to support the idea that socialising improves job performance. To reach a higher band, the ideas need to be more fully extended and directly relevant to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is an overall logical progression. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as starting a sentence with 'So that' or 'Which could help'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within the paragraphs needs more variety and sophistication to move beyond a band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, but these are sometimes used inaccurately or in a slightly unnatural way, such as 'socialise time' instead of 'socialising' or 'social time'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'good idea' or 'working life'. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to work-life balance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. For example, 'supporters of the statement that working life should be separate... because they believe' is a sentence fragment. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'in the evening time' and 'in workplace'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors is recommended.
