Student answer (Band 6.0)

A portion of individuals think that a person should to do enjoyment with their team members when they are free from work . however, others think that keep a private life is a best idea . in my opinion, a person should keep their office life separate from the social life to stay focus on goals. Their are number of reasons why i agree with this statement that i will explain in upcoming paragraphs .

To begin with, a lot of reason makes people to think that during free time its good to meet with their colleagues. firstly, it will create a good bond between them which helps them to do best team work. For instance, when they meet after the office time, so they can spend a lot of time together as well as can know each other nature more that they can never do in office hours. secondly ,it also help to make a good friend circle like some employees live alone and they may feel alone at home. so spending spare time with employees can make them feel good.

Nevertheless, there is another school of thought which i agree that people must keep their life private from work. firstly, if people spend free time with their colleagues, so they may share their personal life with them which can be not only result into conflicts but also into judgement. like people start judge each other by their person life which can create a lot problems. The main point is if workers meet each other in their free time it can reduce their focus as well s concertation in work because that kind of things can destract them in the office as well.

To conclude, although meeting with team members during work free time can create good bod between them, it can cause a lot problem like less focus on work. its good to keep life personal.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of team bonding versus the risks of personal conflicts. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding 'judgement' and 'distraction' is mentioned but not fully explored with depth. The position is consistent throughout, but the overall development lacks the sophistication required for a higher band. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more specific, illustrative examples rather than general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'firstly', 'secondly', and 'nevertheless' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the awkward phrasing 'in my opinion, a person should keep their office life separate...'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth flow, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the progression between sentences is more natural and less formulaic.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on simple, repetitive phrases like 'good bond', 'good friend circle', and 'a lot of problems'. There are also instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'do enjoyment' instead of 'socialize' or 'have fun', and 'concertation' instead of 'concentration'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range is limited, and there are noticeable errors in word formation and collocation. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to professional environments and social dynamics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('a lot of reason makes'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms ('a person should to do'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces misplaced before commas and periods. While these errors rarely impede communication, their frequency is high. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb patterns and article usage, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for minor slips in punctuation and spelling would also be beneficial.
