Student answer (Band 6.5)
Varied opinions exist around the idea of colleagues socializing outside work, some are in support whereas others beg to differ. Interaction among employee of workplace have both advantages and disadvantages that might impact their performance at work.
Humans are social beings and thrive in community based settings and have formed numerous civilizations in different parts of the world over span of centuries which is why I believe that coworkers when engaging in activities outside workplace can build better interpersonal relationships. Engaging in fun activities over weekend such as having dinners or intimate gatherings such as barbeque can help individuals better understand each others personalities. It can aid in team building because colleagues become aware of other person’s perspectives and can coordinate better.
On the other hand socializing with peers outside work can sometimes lead to stress and conflicts when you might be too involved in the each other’s personal life. For instance, being friends with your family might become stressful for you if your colleague is going through a rough patch in his/her relationship as they might come to you for advice or a shoulder to lean on. And if you are unable to meet other individuals expectation it might lead to strain in friendship among co-workers, which in turn can have negative impact on the project they both might be involved in.
In conclusion, I believe interactions among people of workplace outside office can be fruitful as long as people set clear boundaries around it and don't get too invested in each other’s personal relationships.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of team building and the potential for personal stress. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on the 'disadvantages' could be more deeply explored with more specific examples beyond just relationship advice. The introduction is a bit generic, and the overall development feels slightly brief, though it meets the requirements of the prompt. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more nuanced reasoning or concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' are used effectively to guide the reader. However, some transitions between sentences within paragraphs feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, though some sentences could be linked more fluidly to improve the overall flow. Overall, the structure is sound and supports the development of the argument well.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate and appropriate for the task. You use some good collocations like 'interpersonal relationships', 'clear boundaries', and 'thrive in community based settings'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies and awkward phrasings, such as 'employee of workplace' (should be 'employees in the workplace') and 'being friends with your family' (which seems to be a slight misuse of the word 'family' in this context). The range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, but it lacks the sophistication and precision required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. For example, 'Interaction among employee of workplace have' contains subject-verb agreement errors. There are also missing articles (e.g., 'over weekend' instead of 'over the weekend') and punctuation issues, such as the missing comma after introductory phrases. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
