Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, Some people argue that spending quality time with the co-workers during days off is a great idea, while, some people prefer to keep their professional and personal life separate. However, I think it depends on the type of connection and interests between colleagues.
On the one hand, some individuals on the work place form greater connections with other peers, they often share similar interests and have like minded personality. Moreover, some people are extrovert, they love being social. For instance- an immigrant who moves to other place must prefer to make friends on work and they like to make plans together during holidays. Another benefit of being socialise is it helps one to relieve stress caused by projects deadlines.
On the other hand, some individuals might have family responsibilities. They like to spend their leisure time on weekends with them because tight schedules of work do not allow people on regular days. For instance- A person with three kids may like to pay much attention to them during free time rather hanging out with colleagues. Additionally, few co-workers just get along with their colleagues only at work place, they might not feel comfortable to open up with them and share their thoughts.
To conclude further, getting socialise offer colleagues chance to share their opinions and form a good relationship with them but at the same time some people may have other responsibilities to fulfill apart from the work. Therefore, In my opinion, i think it largly rely on an individual's preference and personality.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the social benefits for immigrants and the family responsibilities of parents. However, the development is somewhat limited; the points are presented but could be extended with more depth or nuanced analysis to reach a higher band. For instance, the discussion on 'extroverts' is brief. The position is consistent throughout, and the task requirements are met. To improve, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with a clear link back to the prompt's core question regarding the balance between professional and personal life.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Additionally', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, though some sentence structures are a bit fragmented, which affects the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that the logical progression between sentences is smoother, avoiding abrupt shifts in thought.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'like minded' and 'professional and personal life'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'getting socialise' (should be 'socializing') and 'largly rely' (spelling error). The range is sufficient to discuss the topic but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Focusing on accurate collocations and avoiding basic grammatical errors in word forms will help improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Some people argue that spending quality time with the co-workers' (unnecessary article), 'an immigrant who moves to other place' (missing article), and 'A person with three kids may like to pay much attention to them during free time rather hanging out' (missing 'than'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of hyphens and capitalization. To reach a higher band, the student needs to demonstrate better control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of basic errors in articles, prepositions, and verb forms.
