Student answer (Band 5.5)
People have different opinions about that people should socialize with colleagues on weekends or should not. while people should keep working life separate from social life, i believe it is good thing to socialize with colleagues.
On the one hand, when people spend time with colleagues during evening and weekends, they can share our thoughts and get any advice related to anything. sometime people need to take help related to promotion or some working skills, therefore, their colleagues know very well about them. However, sometime people are in stress, they need emotional support, they can easily share with our colleagues if they are socializing. Because they spend more time on work place, it is easy for them to trust on each other.
On the other hand, if they keep working life completely separate from others, they can grow more. Mostly all managers observe to worker during work time. When people will fully focused, they can get better promotions or can get tage of team leader, which can help to increase their salary.
In conclusion, although there are some advantage to keep our working life separate from social life, i think socializing with colleagues contains more benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The arguments provided, such as 'sharing thoughts' or 'getting promotions', are mentioned but lack depth, specific examples, or detailed explanation. Because the response is only 196 words, it fails to fully develop the points required for a higher band score. To improve, you must expand on your reasoning with concrete examples and ensure you meet the minimum word count to allow for a thorough discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal the transition between ideas. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Mostly all managers observe to worker during work time.' The logical progression is present but basic, and the lack of length prevents more sophisticated linking of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite simple and repetitive. Phrases like 'get any advice', 'take help', and 'get better promotions' are functional but lack the precision and variety expected at higher levels. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'observe to worker' instead of 'observe workers' or 'monitor employees'. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to professional development and work-life balance, and focus on using more precise verbs and adjectives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'about that people should socialize' is grammatically incorrect, and there are issues with pronoun usage ('share our thoughts' instead of 'share their thoughts') and article usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and prepositions, prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic sentence construction will help improve your accuracy.
