Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this contemporary era, being social with everyone is not easy for everyone. Although
on weekends and evenings, socializing with work colleagues is a good option, some people think so, while others believe professional and personal life should be separate. This essay intends to discuss both viewpoints, followed by my opinion.
There are a lot of reasons why individuals reckon that socializing with colleagues is a good idea. The first and foremost reason is strong bonding. To explain it further, when workmates meet with each other on weekends, they can strengthen their bonding with each other by sharing their feelings. As a result, they get time to know more about each other, which helps them to enhance their bonding, which leads to them focus more on work and enhance productivity through teamwork. For example, I and my team mates go outside every Saturday, which helps us to know more about each other's behaviour, which is very important for a company's development because our teamwork helps us to run our company smoothly without any conflicts between employees. Hence, socializing with colleagues helps us do a lot of work in very little time.
However, there is a segment of people who think this is not a good way. Firstly, working life should be completely different to reduce stress. To explain it further, when colleagues have a different social life at that time, they have less stress because when they mix their professional and social life that time they do not have time for their own family members, which may affect them negatively. Additionally, they have more time to spend with their family members and friends, which gives them a sense of relief from work. As a result, their mind feel relaxed, and their life span increases.
I believe that socializing with work colleagues is a good option because, due to this, they can feel more comfortable with each other during work. They can easily share their ideas without any hesitation or fear of rejection, which may also be fruitful for company production.
To conclude, after discussion, it becomes quite clear that there is no doubt that socializing with work members has a lot of benefits, but it is also good in some areas to keep both lives separate.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both viewpoints and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of team bonding versus the necessity of work-life balance for stress reduction. However, the development is somewhat repetitive; for instance, the phrase 'strengthen their bonding' is used multiple times in the first body paragraph, and the explanation of 'family members' in the second paragraph is a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your arguments with more sophisticated reasoning rather than repeating the same points in slightly different ways. The conclusion is a bit brief and could have better summarised the main arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints. You use cohesive devices such as 'The first and foremost reason', 'As a result', 'However', and 'Additionally' to link your ideas. However, some of the transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there is some repetition in sentence structure (e.g., starting multiple sentences with 'To explain it further'). The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and avoiding the repetitive use of 'which' to connect clauses.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'professional and personal life', 'productivity', 'teamwork', and 'conflicts'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on basic words like 'good', 'nice', or 'a lot of'. There are also some minor collocation issues, such as 'company production' (better: 'company productivity' or 'business performance') and 'socialise with everyone' (better: 'socialise with others'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations to demonstrate a more flexible range of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors. For example, 'I and my team mates' should be 'My teammates and I'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'their mind feel relaxed' (should be 'minds feel' or 'mind feels'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are slightly run-on due to the overuse of commas to join independent clauses. While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of these minor errors prevents the writing from being considered consistently accurate. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and pronoun usage will help improve your score.
