Student answer (Band 6.0)
Undoubtedly, there is always has been a debatable issue in corporate culture. Some people say individual should socialise with their work colleagues while other people think that work life and social life should be separated. I believe that it is crucial to enjoy social life with colleagues because it creates mutual understanding and can build friendship.
To begin with, social life with colleagues can help in both aspects, in social life as well as in corporate life. This would mean that it can improve relationship and teamwork. Because, when colleagues spend time together outside work, they can understand each other and can improve better understanding. As a result, it can be helpful when they find any task difficult and try to rectify the solution. For example, a good relation between two colleagues can help effectively each other and they can make any task easier.
This also has some drawbacks, firstly, people need time for their family. They want to spend their extra time with family because they feel more comfort with family then their colleagues. they also give respect of their privacy as they do not want share it with their colleagues. Secondly, after working many hours, employee need time with family and friends. It helps them to relax and maintain a better work life balance. For instance, someone who works five days in a week may prefer spend time with family than colleagues.
In conclusion, although people may want their life separate from working life due to some privacy and spend time with friends and family, but I believe that people should go with their employees because it can help to understand each other and creates bonding better.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, though the development is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding 'mutual understanding' is mentioned in the introduction and repeated in the first body paragraph without significant expansion. The conclusion clearly states your position, but the phrasing 'go with their employees' is slightly unclear in context. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with distinct examples rather than restating the same concept in different words.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Firstly', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'Because, when colleagues spend time together...'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'they' in the second paragraph, where it is not immediately obvious whether you are referring to the colleagues or the tasks. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on common, repetitive terms like 'social life', 'work life', and 'colleagues'. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'rectify the solution' (you rectify a problem, not a solution) and 'feel more comfort' (should be 'comfortable'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or idiomatic language limits the score. Incorporating more precise collocations and topic-specific vocabulary would significantly improve your lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'there is always has been' (redundant auxiliary verbs), 'individual should socialise' (missing article 'an'), and 'employee need time' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will help you achieve a higher level of accuracy.
