Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, all individuals around the world have different perspective in life regarding whether it is beneficial to have leisure time with co-workers or separate your personal life with them.
On one hand, socializing with your colleagues have different advantages. You can know your workmate much better if spend more time with them. For example, when you hung out with them after work, going to the sports bar is a good way to interact with them. Playing with their hobbies, you can observe how the way they act and what are their different characteristic. And if you are closed to each other, it is easy to tackle any working problems that need to be solved urgently because you know very well regarding your workmate capability and capacity regarding certain matters.
On the other hand, separating your personal life to your social life with co-workers are important also. Such as, you have more time to relax yourself. For example, me as an introvert person, I want after a tiring work is to relax and watch movie on my bedroom alone. I want some piece of mind, like a quiet and dark room. It gives me some opportunity to reflect the things that I need to do and plan ahead of it. It is very satisfying for me to have some moment with myself several hours.
I therefore conclude that, it depends on a certain individual how he feels with his co-workers. It is up to him if he likes to socialize or not. As long as you work properly and interact with manners, mostly that matters the most.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for socializing is supported by a single example of going to a sports bar, and the argument for separation relies heavily on personal preference rather than broader professional implications. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the potential impact of these choices on team dynamics or productivity. The position is consistent, but the supporting points could be more thoroughly explored to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'For example', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the intro and the first body paragraph. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences could be linked more fluidly to improve the overall progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You use basic terms like 'good way', 'tackle', and 'relax', which are functional but not sophisticated. There are some minor collocation errors, such as 'Playing with their hobbies' (which is unnatural) and 'reflect the things' (should be 'reflect on'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to professional relationships and work-life balance, such as 'collegiality', 'professional boundaries', or 'interpersonal rapport'. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('socializing... have', 'co-workers are important') and preposition usage ('reflect the things' instead of 'reflect on'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are some awkward phrasings, such as 'I want after a tiring work is to relax'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do indicate a lack of control over more complex structures. Increasing the variety of sentence types while focusing on accuracy would significantly improve your score.
