Student answer (Band 6.0)
Socialization plays a greater role in everyone's life. It is believed that socializing should be there in the working environment while others believe it should not clash with work life. Both the views with relevant examples will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, socialization helps a lot in communication. To explain further, colleagues builds healthy relationships and know each other point of views. With this they can understand each other better and can work more efficiently together. As a result, it enhances team work and company earn more profits. Secondly, there is good work life balance. This means everyone gets tired with work loads and become stress. Socializing not only gives them a distraction from work but also relaxes and gives energy to work more effectively.
On the flip side, Socializing brings negative effects also. The first and foremost is conflicts. To explain further, social gathering will definitely bring discussion on topics that cannot be discussed at work. So everyone will put their point of views and as there will be no supervision of manager or boss some colleagues may argue because of different opinions. Consequently, their conflict will effect the workplace and also the productivity of the company.
In conclusion, Although socializing will bring different opinions and some conflicts but I believe that socializing is really a good way to communicate with your colleagues and a good relaxing activity which not only help you in relaxation but also building strong relationships at work which will bring productivity and great gain to the company.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on socialising with colleagues and providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, such as discussing improved communication and teamwork versus the potential for workplace conflicts. However, some ideas are a bit repetitive or lack full extension. For instance, the point about work-life balance in the second paragraph transitions abruptly into stress relief without robust expansion. The position is maintained throughout, fitting the Band 6 descriptor well.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is generally coherent with a clear overall arrangement into four paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. Transition signals such as 'To begin with', 'Secondly', and 'On the flip side' are used to structure the text, though they are somewhat mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty, as seen in minor awkwardness with connectors like 'With this they can understand each other better'. Progression is present, but could be smoother.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts. There are attempts to use less common items and phrases such as 'working environment', 'healthy relationships', and 'productivity of the company'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'colleagues builds' (subject-verb agreement/word form), 'point of views' (should be points of view), and 'company earn more profits'. Spelling is generally accurate, but vocabulary limitations prevent the response from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional or relative clauses such as 'topics that cannot be discussed at work'. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several recurring errors throughout the essay, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'colleagues builds' and 'work loads and become stress', as well as tense inconsistencies and preposition misuse ('effect the workplace' instead of affect). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to cap the score at Band 5.5.
